I hope this doesn't lead anywhere bad, but slightly, yes. You see, I'm willing to sacrifice my own personal freedoms if it can get the whole country back on track, but I will also input that those same freedoms need to be restored once such a time is reached. That, however, never happens, and people with power want nothing less than to lose it. So it's kind of a two-edged sword. Choose your poison, as it were. There aren't many other options, right now, honestly. At least that I can see, but I'm not very smart.

You're right; money/ nor the love for money is not the root of all evil. I believe it is power, for one can mistake money for the power it gives you. This al reminds me of how Caesar came to power...

You can't afford to do that, that was exactly how Hitler became a dictator. If the Reichstag fire has one lesson it was that.
Hitler persuaded President Hindenburg to issue a decree entitled, 'For the Protection of the People and the State.' Justified as a 'defensive measure against Communist acts of violence endangering the state,' the decree suspended the constitutional guarantees pertaining to civil liberties.
Two weeks later, Hitler requested the Reichstag to temporarily delegate its powers to him so that he could adequately deal with the crisis. Denouncing opponents to his request, Hitler shouted, "Germany will be free, but not through you!" When the vote was taken, the result was 441 for and 84 against, giving Hitler the two-thirds majority he needed to suspend the German constitution. On March 23, 1933, what has gone down in German history as the 'Enabling Act' made Hitler dictator of Germany, freed of all legislative and constitutional constraints.

No. Not even in the face of Armageddon. Never compromise.
We cannot count on them restoring freedoms at any time after they have taken them away. Hate to use the slippery slope concept, but once you let them have one freedom, they're free to take them all.

I try my best to preserve my and anyone else's life. That means I will defend myself against threats and wrong-doing. This is really all I can say on the subject for my own self.
Yes, I would surely hate to leave strife for those who were still alive. But I also have issues with morality. Like, I can't be a doctor, and I can't kill anyone unless there are strict circumstances.
There's a lot of serious topics being discussed here. This forum needs a Serious Discussion board.
On topic...Does anyone know the extent to which Obama wants to limit guns? I'm against any gun control, and so this is one thing me and my anti-Obama friend can agree on.

Why should we listen to Ben Bernanke or Obama's Tim Geithner? Here is a video with Marc Faber and he does a pretty good job of explaining why you shouldn't.

This was funny to read, btw: http://www.redroom.com/blog/shaynexus/who-dr-sam-vaknin-and-why-he-saying-these-things-about-pres-obama
(Sam Vaknin is a self-convicted NPD and nobody really knows what is going on inside his head so be careful with this article...)

Never, ever, give up freedom.
Death is sweeter then to live in chains.
I'm talking real life. If the government tries to take my rights and the rights of those that I love, they will have to do it over my cold dead body.

My only problem I would have dying is that I know I would hurt my love when I died...

Which really makes sense.
I honestly didn't know that. For some reason I though he was *completely* against home owned arms. I should really watch the news more >.>
