Well, I don't think it matters to me personally if you go hurting yourself, as long as it makes you happy, as long as your actions don't affect others negatively. In that case, go for it- I may not support said person, but I won't question his/her/its right to destroy his/her/itself.
(Was that last bit vague enough gender-wise to accommodate most people? Kidding, I just always kind of chuckle at those kinds of disclaimers.)
if I had a penny for every time I was shipwrecked by a backfire....
You could be a good politician, then (That was a joke, though it's mostly true, not in relation to you, but, ah, frick... Where did that thought go?)
I'm glad to see what an overly positive thread this is- normally people just post all manner of things along the lines of "[this subject] is [insert verbous insult]" or "[this subject] is not scientifically correct" or something, just to be difficult. I think sometimes that a good boost of moral here and there would really help out this community.
Grr, someone fix edit already
I meant to add in "not that I think disagreeing is a bad thing, but there's a time and a place for it".
Failure and success motivates me. I do not want to fail, but at the same time you cant win unless you are ready to accept a moment of failure or two. But I try to keep the bad in front of my eyes. I am constantly unsatisfied with my progress therefore I am constantly progressing. When I see ow other people have failed I step over and try not to get tripped up by the same thing as them.
Success is the goal, with it in mind you have something to reach for. With it I can hopefully motivate myself to levels I could never imagine a few years ago. Mostly I am referring to my artwork and Track and Field.

At first I was so afraid of failing that motivated me a ton, but when i realized I could put half the effort in and still do just as well I started slacking off so lately I have been looking for new motivation (I'm talking about school more so )
The 80/20 rule... 80% of everything can be achieved by 20% effort. The last 20% can be achieved with 80% effort. Which is why maximization is counterproductive.
It was funny, I never got around to trying to swim to GM Island but I'd imagine that's why they changed it. As far as motivation goes, lately money but in the summer usually thinking about the weekend
Curious though, are you motivated? really?
Is that really any reason to actualy do it though? lol...
I already posted what gets me motivated *before the cutting one*
But seriously, I get motivated only by knowing ill get a "You did a great job" at the end.
whether it be a task, a test, a sport.
While the results may be negative to many or all, if they are positive for you, then I say go nuts.

"...then I'd be a rich [man/woman/individual]."
Finished it
I knew a girl that used to smack her thighs every time she was nervous, at the end of the day she was a red hipped queen!
One new thing that motivates me is controversy, I thrive off of it.
