Well luckily, I don't use LimeWire or anything like that since I already have gotten a virus from that crap, but that's still pretty cool. But they do realize how many people they are going to have to stop...
Sweden is also looking over their tactics, but in another way. Over here, they're going to let companies go directly to the ISP, ask them for the IP adress of a possible downloader, and thus get the name of the person so they can charge them.
Today, they first have to go to court and get the IP adress, which a takes much longer and often results in them not getting it at all.
PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.

You think any of this is going to work?
It would be a lot of people to take to court. Maybe after a few hundred people are caught, though, it will be a kind of discouraging mental effect that will persuade people not to break the law.
same here lol...I cant tell you the last time i have actually bought a cd roflz

Probably. Though as they have said themselves, the usual downloader won't be the main target. They're hoping to catch the big fish quicker I imagine.
We'll see about that though. And the mental effect has had very little effect so far in my dear country

Some of you in this thread are already getting dangerously close to the bannable offense of discussing possession / appropriation of Warez.

All I said was that I do it. I'm not discussing how I do it or where others can go to do it. That would indeed be bad.
Hence why I said close.

What's worse? A warning that you're getting close to a ban or just a straight up ban? I don't need this kind of response when I'm just trying to do my job here.

Except for the fact that you're allowed to discuss jay-walking on these boards.
Personally, I don't feel that "illegally" comming into posession of music is wrong. I too cannot say the last time I bought a CD over 50 cents. (Yay yardsales!)
I am all for (Insert program of choice here) rather then paying craploads of money, most of which never see's the artist anyway.
If the music is truely good I will support the artist. But I will never support the Music Industry.
RIAA is seriously getting on my nerves... they're going to get into trouble if they keep at this. They really think they can change what's happening? Are they trying to move people to GNU or what? Digging their own grave.
Reason #1 why this is not going to work: ISP's will not cooperate any more than a little message.
"If you don't stop, well ... your service provider probably won't sue you, but it might slow down your broadband connection, or cut off your service altogether."
U-huh. And lose money. Money that YOU are paying to the SERVICE PROVIDER. Riiiiiiiiiight. Doesn't work. The ISP may do a bit for the RIAA but apart from that it will gain nothing, absolutely nothing from annoying their customer, except maybe losing the money the customer pays them. Really, ISP's are sooo interested in cooperating.
They are doing it with movies already. Does it work? No.

That made me chuckle lol....on a side note...MAN this song is soooo good!!!

Siaynoq's Playthroughs
This is true. But if they take one person to court for it they would have to get everyone, which is a LOT of people

the artists really do get most of the money from touring.
