I think the most popular weapon being bought right now is the AR-15. People are afraid they will repass the law disallowing automatic weapons. Which I think they should.
Is the price of someone having a "cool" weapon worth some people that will use it to kill multitudes of innocent people?
I mean we already have handguns for self defense and rifles and shotguns for hunting, I don't see the need for assault weapons.
Crimes are usually carried out with illegal weapons or shotguns. My proposals would destroy the black market, thus reducing crime. You might think that the mass of criminals released from the legalization of drugs and prostitution would increase crime, but what would they do? Sell drugs? Sell sex? All violent criminals would remain imprisoned. If everyone made the same paycheck and had guns there would be less incentive to steal and more incentive to get a job and a college degree. Ghettos would slowly turn into suburbs and children in less privileged communities would be given an equal chance to succeed. People will kill people whether it be by gun, knife, or hand to hand combat. The key is giving them a reason to get along.
People will kill people whether it be by gun, knife, or hand to hand combat.
That's very true but in my opinion you don't give toddlers knives if you get my drift. Everyone can already have rifles, shotguns, and handguns. Why do we REALLY need full auto assault weapons?

Crimes do not exist because guns are illegal, the illegal guns are just a tool in order to carry out the crime. Criminals would still break the law if all guns became legal.

Point taken. Though shotguns and pistols seem to work well on them also.
Honestly though, guns are not the reason for crime. Unless the crime is to well... steal guns. People are just greedy. Even if we all made the same amount, there would still be at least a handful of people who felt entitled to more and took it from the innocent. And when 3 assault rifle wielding madmen kick in the door of my grandmas house I don't expect her to shoot back just because she has a full auto gun also.

My point was that neither of those weapons can be traced to a killer. Illegal weapons have to come from somewhere, that place is the black market. By legalizing things the economy of the black market will crash. The resulting crash will make it harder to get illegal weapons. I feel that all of you are missing the big picture. What if everyone on 9/11 was allowed to carry firearms on airplanes? If everyone had a sidearm criminals would be less tempted to rob a bank or something retarded like that. Accidental deaths would be hampered by the implimentation of a required gun saftey class in elementary school.
The right to bear arms is the second amendment. You know why? It's fucking important. They knew that a corrupt government would do anything they could to keep the power from the people, so they wrote it out in plain english as our second most important right. They wanted to give us the power to overthrow the government if it ever went sour. People have fought and died for the bill of rights, and for some panzies to come along and sanction our 2nd amendment is a disgrace. It spits in the face of everything we stand for.
I beleive Benjamin Franklin said it best.
"They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety."
False.
True: Capitalism doesn't even look good on paper and it sure as hell does not work.
Sweden and many other very prosperous countries are socialistic.
And who the fux compared socialism to communism? Seriously, what did you do during school hours? Socialism and communism are two COMPLETELY different ideologies.
Communism have a lot of very very good ideas for a functional society but is directly ruined by human kind itself.
And the normal capitalistic statement "Why should a doctor from harvard have the same salary as the janitor?" Well... In the perfect society I would think that would be sweet but people don't work like that. But instead what you could do is to have higher taxes for the wealthier so we spread the wealth. I know that the people from the US hates spreading the wealth. I mean, why should YOU who work and earn your own money, pay for others!? That's just absurd....
No, actually it's not. It's the opposite. Not caring about your fellow citizens by keeping it all to your self is absurd. Wall street sharks who make at least $50 million per year (Yeah!! I SAW IT ON FABULOUS LIFE!) should share that "well-earned" wealth A LOT more.
This is common sense in most of Europe and its countries are way more functional than the US if you look at it humanistic.
I voted for the most left-winged party sitting in the parliament because socialism equals justice and welfare for everyone, not just the wealthy.
I know this last part gets kind of offensive but seriously. If you voted for McCain you are self centered AND ignorant. This is not to be mean or offensive to you, I just want you to understand that he actually wanted to STAY IN IRAQ! You didn't have ANYTHING to do there in the first place! Nuclear power plants? I'm not even going to ask you where you live, I'm going to ask you when! This is the 21st century and the world is WELL AWARE about the global warming issue which is at hand. We have viable strategys to save our world and building MORE nuke plants is not going to benefit that.
Solar, wind and waves are your friends, use 'em.
Ah yeah this was about socialism not about the election but I couldn't help myself.
Long live socialism.
You cant just say "false" regarding an opinion. If it looks good on paper to that person it is their right to think so. There is no true and false regarding how someone feels about a subject.

Of course not. But since I wrote it is fair to assume this is my opinion. Way to argue about subjectivity, it's a pointless argument.
Its not so much about the argument of subjectivity as it is you decided to declare those things as facts by using the words true and false when they aren't.

You know why people are greedy and possessive? Cause they grew up in a greedy and possessive society. If we had the balls to raise our children in a socialist society they would grow up to be better cooperative people. We just have to take the first step. Capitalism is nothing more than a glorified dog eat dog system that forces the assholes to the top of the food chain. Do you really want assholes running our economy? My system would be a reward based system, where an individual is rewarded for making it further in their schooling.
high school drop out: 10 an hour
GED: 15 an hour
high school diploma: 20 an hour
vocational training: 25 an hour (in the specified field)
associate's degree: 30 an hour
bachelor's degree: 35 an hour
masters degree: 40 an hour
doctorate: 50 an hour
Something to that effect. Maybe increase the scaling a bit up to 100 an hour for a doctorate. You may all think that that is way over the top but think about what the loss of money grubbing CEO's would allow us to afford. Nobody should make millions a year. It is absurd to think that any one person contributes that much to society.
My system is a lot like Diablo in a way. You gain levels with experience and increase your skills and synergies. The more you further your skills, the more gold/items you get. Minus the demon slaying of course.

If all guns were legalized, and it's easy to track legally sold guns, the same illegal gun market would still exist. Criminals would still have to get their hands on illegal weapons.

Perhaps. But I can't say people in Sweden are any less greedy. We have our ridiculoulsy payed CEO's and regular pay inequalities here as well.
I also don't think arbitrary payment rules like that are all good. Planning something on paper and then carrying them out in the real world are two wildly different things. That was one of the greatest drawbacks to communism, the governments unfailing ability to adabt quickly enough to new situations. If shoes were suddenly in short supply, it took a long time for produciton to increase, and by that time a lot of other things were missing from people lives.
Same thing with salary. One day the economy goes well, the next it crashes, other days the dolllar loses value, inlfation rises...
Flexibility and adaption is great to have. Doesn't mean you can't regulate salaries, but setting them to a few certain values doesn't seem like the greatest strategy.

Fully automatic weapons are already illegal (U.S. law USC 26 Section 5845).
Edit:
Wait, I don't even know why I quoted you and said that. Oh well.

But yes, I'd actually rather have a shotgun than a machine gun to kill zombies. You need to take off their heads to guaruntee a kill.

Rise and rise again, until lambs become lions
Why the 5$ jump?
Those are supposed to be equivalent. I ended up taking my GED at age 16 because frankly our school systems here suck and it wasn't too easy.
