I will be playing Diablo 3 to the extreme so I'm looking for a 50 inch HDTV. My preference is LCD because I know for a fact a plasma will be susceptible to burn-in. It also needs to be:
I wouldn't be asking here if I could find 50 inch LCDs online. Do manufacturers not produce 50 inch LCDs? Anyways I already have the TV mount and it supports up to 50 inch.
try newegg.com they have an extensive search process that probably has all the things you want as options. you might have to sacrifice energy star though.
you might also try getting an hd projector. i play ps3 on a reverse hd projector and the quality is amazing in comparison to just large tvs
i jus got a 52 lcd from sears that was reduced $1499. Now is a good time since the new modesl are coming out. You can try the deals sites like slick deals or fat wallet if youre looking to score a sweet deal and yes go with the lcd.although you should check the response time stats u want something that is fast...imho a 50 for gaming is overkill the picture will not be any better than say a 27..also you should check that the resolution of the game matches the res supported by the tv...good luck

I agree that 50 inch is a bit overkill for gaming. I run my x360 on a 42" full-HD LCD with more contrast and sharpness than real life. And it's so big that I need to sit a few meters away in order to see everything. And then its really hard to read tiny letters from that distance! Note that D3 will have a small chat window appearing in lower left corner of the screen that you may not be able to read if you sit away from your TV. I heartily recommend not going for anything bigger than 42" - its really more than enough...
The output diagonal have nothing to do with VGA VPU !
You can use 52" or even bigger TV even on old 8 Mb ATi Rage 2 with TV out - there is not a problem at all.
The output is stretched by constant RESOLUTION -> PIXEL per INCH to constant DIAGONAL ... - it's a simple mathematic.
Well it would look like absolute fucking crap to use a lower resolution and stretch it like that. If you go for a HD screen, you do it to be able to run HD resolutions....
