Has anyone else seen the current version? It's overwhelmingly awesome--great cast, amazing cinematography, intense story line, and low on the deus ex machina use of mumbo jumbo sciency explanations. It's most definitely an up-grade from the 70s tv show. I highly encourage it to all, not just sci-fi fans.
I watched a bit of Battlestar Galactica I think. It bored the hell out of me. It was all just soldiers fighting, and I was strongly reminded of a 100 other sci-fi shows and movies, particularly Starship Troopers 2, which failed miserably.

You say that as if Starship Troopers and Starship Troopers 3 we're good.

Are you sure you were watching Battlestar Galactica? From what I have seen of it (I think I've watched nearly all of season 1), there isn't actually much fighting. Their war with the Cylons was over in the first episode. Humans got smashed, the only thing they could do was flee. Everything that I watched was just them fleeing, trying to find the mythological 'Earth', avoiding the Cylons, trying to figure out what the hell happened and which members of their crew are really cylons in disguise. Its impossible to tell, and most of the time the people who are really cylons don't even know it themselves (when they do find out they get all emotional over it, not wanting to be the enemy). I thought it was cool cause it was full of theological references, too. Like, you don't even know if the Cylons are the bad guys - they actually claim to be messengers of God or something, lol. Robots believing in God, its crazy. It seemed very plot-driven to me, not just full of fighting. Or at least not fighting like Starship Troopers.
Anyways, Jetrall is a huge fan of the series. If we had avatars, you would see that his avatar is the doctor.
is this show like that other space 1... star trek.. cus man those shows are kinda ___... yes they also did bore the shhiett outa me.. its so old and horribly acted.
I've only watched it a few times, I'm not in to Sci-Fi (which is strictly different from fantasy!), but it's pretty different. I can't quite explain how. Oh well.
I know there's an MMO coming out soon (or maybe it's already out?) about it- and I read a movie was coming out, I think. Like a real, theater-wise movie. Not sure, though.
Give, expecting nothing thereof. ------------ BoD - Come have some fun! Folks will always come and go, so enjoy them while they're meant to be in your life.
Anyways, I'm pretty excited. The fan club I'm in is hosting a big party and there's gonna be over 100 people there (we might even have to turn some away). Additionally, SPACE - that's Canada's version of Sci Fi basically - is sending over a camera crew and one of their reporters to film the event. We may even be involved in the 1 hour "Fandom Forum" going on afterwards.
I have the Battlestar Galactica sountracks for the first 3 seasons and the '2003 minseries'
Not the fourth one though
Does this make me nerdy?
I heard that 'Battlestar Sonatica" one (similar to moonlight sonata) . Otherwise I wouldn't of bothered with them
PS - The BSG cover of All along the Watchtower is awesome... but I cant find an instrumental version... I dont want the lyrics! *shakes fist in sky*
It is pretty nerdy. I have the same soundtracks and I'm a pretty big BSG geek. Only reason I don't have Season 4 soundtrack is that it hasn't been released yet. Also, I totally agree about All Along The Watchtower. Best cover song.. EVER!
I don't think there is an instrumental version though.

I got a question, then. Does it have a developed world?
Anyone watching the finale tonight?
