After I've beaten a game squarely, I normally go through with cheats if they're made available (like the ones the SimCity creators are notorious for or Roller Coaster Tycoon or Age of Empires.) If you can't beat a game without them, though, you're just a loser that doesn't really want to play the game.
Hey I'm not a loser. I greatly enjoyed AoE and I never only finished the Egyption campaign without cheats (I think :P)
PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.

You mean Age of Mythology? That was another great one in my book, I love making levels with it, especially. I really hope they make another...
No, there was an Eqyptian campagn in Age of Empires, but it would hardly be called campaigns by today's measures. it was just a bunch of maps with some text in between, and some scripted events

I don't really get the point the OP is trying to make. I wouldn't cheat even if I wouldn't get caught, because I don't see the point. When I play games I want to prove to myself that I am better than someone else. If I use cheats I can't prove that, I just cheated. I may win but I know I cheated. So why would I?
Robbing a bank is another story. As long as robbing it doesn't hurt anyone I'd probably do it because it's silly to make a bank robbable without consequences.
Of course they overpowered me, that's why it's called a cheat, haha
Fun memories, though- I love my sibbies
