This is going to be sweet. James Irvin holds the record for fastest UFC knockout (on Houstan Alexander) and also fastest 2nd round knockout (in video). Silva is regarded as the best fighter on the planet. Anyone else looking forward to this?
edit: damn, can a mod fix my title. It should be James Irvin.

Can't wait for the fight.
but on a side note, "Rampage" Jackson is having a crap week/month
after losing the Light Heavyweight title to Forrest, then getting arrested for a hit-and-run.
he is such a nice guy that i really feel for him

Irvin is a nobody, he knocked out a man known for having a glass chin. Silva all the way.
edit: The video of Irvin vs Martin was pure fluke; Martin was undefeated up until that fight; he just got caught by a lucky knee when he went in shooting for something.
There should not be much of a learning curve so to speak for Anderson Silva fighting at 205, when he fights in the 185 bracket he probably walks around at 200ish anyways hes a big middleweight.
James Irvin does have knockout power although his last couple fights are a little over-hyped. He beat Houston Alexander.. but who doesn't beat him these days.
James Irvin definitely isn't high on the Light Heavyweight ladder and hes fighting the pound-for-pound best fighter in the world who will probably be fighting in the same form he is in when he fights at 185.
I agree, Silva is definately the better fighter, that's why nobody wants to fight him :). But Irvin is just so explosive with his strikes that he can end a fight at any time. This fight WILL end in a KO, for that I'm sure.

Damn that fight was awesome. James Irvin is a powerful striker and Silva just caught his kick and 1 punch dropped him! Damn, who's going to beat this guy?
Edit: Damn, did you see Rory Markham drop that guy in the last fight? Shit. What a good fightnight (except for Brandon Vera's fight which kinda sucked).

Two of my favorite fighters, and two of the best knock out artists in the sport square off.
