well first of all, NO one should have to wait even as much as 5 years for a sequel of games of this calibur from a company that promised to return to the franchises. so telling us to be happy with 8years is just ignorant.
2ndly im sure it was harder for them to release starcraft 2 because starcraft and warcraft were always simiiliar. diablo is uncomparable to anything else blizzard made, and why would they release the sequel to a starcraft (that as you said was immensly popular and was heralded as one of the best rts of all time) that would seem like playing nothing new.
it took them so much time because they had to innovate more with sc2.
Your argument for development of Diablo3 makes no sense ... WC and SC have different story lines which some people actually play the game for. By your logic, games shouldn't be developed if they compete in the marketplace do to other existing IPs.
Also, I never told you to be happy with 8 years and im not ignorant. I made my point so you have perspective relative to other game delays.
Guys remeber that in diablo 1 nce you defeat diablo you stick the soul shar ( i think thats what its called) in you head and in diablo 2 you take it out.... who knows we may have implanted it inourselves again because i fyou notice, DOES HE NOT)im pretty sure, plus the 3 is as clear as ever at the beining of the ice shard on the righ side so on the left we must look for a D but i really dont see one....
You forgot the part where we destroyed the soul stones. It kinda hinders your argument. A tad.
For those asking about the LOST numbers I see the connection two ways:
1) The LOST numbers signify armageddon on the show.
----Hell attacking Heaven (D3)
2) In LOST there is a "Hydra Station"
----Project Hydra from Blizzard

OK PEOPLE I really can't point out why diablo ii and LOD were such good crazy addicting games please post what was your favourite FEATURE in diablo 2 and LOD .. maybe youll be able to help me on this one..
maybe the greatest replayability of any game outside of an fps. to simple yet so perfected. the item system was the first to really give that addicting feel.. uniques, sets, good rares! nothing like finding a good nique back in the day.. this may be harder to explain but its ORGANIZATION. they dont just throw you somewhere and leave it up to you to figure out what quests and shit you have to do. its nice and in order. acts were really brilliant. trading! wtf happened to trading. you cant trade in wow. its so dumb. i miss trading. its a classic game and you can always go back and play it now and again. not alot of other games have that.

I keep telling WoWies that Diablo II was the real first game which has people "addicted" to getting items.
Yes. I've had many such weekends with Diablo II. HERE'S to the same thing for Diablo III. May it improve on Diablo II as much as Diablo II improved on the original.

You don't destroy Diablo's. When he dies and falls to the floor it's stiill sticking in his head.

Diablo 3 will likely be a prequel.
