I just saw this movie (yes, it's Sweden, shoot us). Wow. Just wow. Best film this year hands down.
SPOILERS (though I think I might be the last one to see it :P)
The thing is, I went into this with fairly low expectations. Some reviewer in the local paper gave it a 3 out of 5, since he thought it lacked the depth of the first movie. After seeing it myself, I can only wonder what exacly he was thinking about. I liked everything, especially the ending and how Batmans takes the blame to save the city. Fantastic.
But the one thing that I personally was surprised over was the fact that Rachel died. First I was like "Nah, she's going to make it. I mean, Batman is going after Rachel, and he's the hero, so she can't possibly die." Then Batman came upon not Rachel, but Dent, even though he'd said he was going after Rachel. That he could have been tricked crossed my mind, but I dismissed it and though "Ooh, the Joker knew Batman would go after Rachel, so he deceived Batman into thinking this was simply a matter of choosing which one to save. Rachel wasn't going to die, but Batman realised this and so went after Dent." (I know this is an utterly illogical train of thought, but that's what I thought during the move.) Lastly, even though Rachel exploded, I was still in denial "She must have been protected somehow, she can't die." But she did. Everything I though I knew about superhero movies was utterly crushed. Thank you.

I felt it was pretty obvious the Joker had switched the two locations.
First, batman and the police department were both listening to the same conversation about the two locations. All batman said was he's going after Rachel, which they automatically knew which location they had to go after.
Then towards the end when batman has a conversation with Harvey Dent, it goes something like this:
"He wanted to prove someone as good as you could fall." It's clear to me that switching the two locations was Jokers scheme to manipulate Harvey.
i liked the fact that they killed off Rachel, i mean how many movies kill off a mian character in the middle of it? And it also lead to dent dieing, which was also good.
That is the name of the first book in the Frank Miller series of Batman comics, in which he made the character more like he should be. The vigilante, he beats up drug dealers, pimps, whores, and actually kills a few of his enemies.
Also good people die in that comic.
While it did receive numerous writing awards, many fans actually hated it, as it was too much darker than what they were used to.
It was like going from that crappy George Clooney batman movie to well, err The Dark Knight.
Not sure the Frank Miller comic had any beaing on this movie, but from what I saw, it seems like it did.

Great movie but I went with really high expectations cause everybody was talking about it so much. Slightly disappointed just a tad bit but I knew I was expecting too much but definitely a great film. The Joker took the spot light for sure.
Shut up clown. You aren't nearly as smart or clever as you think you are. You probably didn't understand half the movie anyway.
My my, I see you haven't changed one bit. I'm glad ; )
Maybe you can grow up someday.
Honestly? What's so hard to understand. Somethings I might not of understood because I haven't been up-to-date with other batmon movies or the story behind the movie or something, but the general plot is understandable...

By the way, I'd just like to take this moment to say that this movie was ridiculously badass.

It was good. Not bad, not amazing, but good. Sure didn't meet my expectations.
P.S. - Yes, I know goodguy, I'm a douche, fail at life, and have no taste in movies, because I didn't think the movie was god. I GET IT.

-Flame shield 2.0 up-
youll need at least 2.5 with service pack 3 to not get flamed
yea, heath ledger hyped it up a bit, but his performance was arguably his best as an actor. thus making the movie above average, very above average.
