the question speaks for itslef, within the last year espically i think hollywood has lost it. Whether it be movies like 'Meet the spartans' it has turned into perverted nonsence. So what are your thoghts?
Meet the Spartans came out quite a bit ago. Go watch Iron Man and The Hulk. They are probably the best movies to be produced out of this year as of yet.
still more movies like them are coming out say "super hero movie" that was complete crap, though iron man and hulk were good they were two out of alot.
Examples? I haven't seen much super hero movies. But I will agree with you on one point in the degredation of movie quality because of "The Happening". Worst movie ever. Worst acting ever. Mark Wahlberg=shitlisted.
just to name a few, Jumper, herald and kumar, strangers, happening, superhero movie, the bank job, collage road trip, abd prom night. I would name more but i have a bade headache. also im not saying all movie are crap, there do seem to be alot of good ones too, im just saying in general say the last year were seeing more belowe average or bad movies.
idk iron man was good, get smart was good, rambo was good, sweeny todd was good and i hope batman is epic... yes we have had movies like meet the spartans, eragon, the number 23, harry potter movies etc etc etc that have been bad (with the exception that hermoine is hot lol) idk there is more of a gap between bad and great movies
hmm mabey im just being whinney, i guess it's the fact that opinion on movies differ, i hated rambo.e also have to look at movies that are coming out, we have batman, and then we have a movie like wanted. we have hancock, and then we have journey to the center of the earth. it a hit mis right now.

Tell me about it. We had like 7 super hero movies in the last few years, then a few repetative drama movies, then some stupid comedies... I don't remember a single truly decent movie from the last 3 years, that's pretty sad.
While I think the quality of movies are down, I can only blame moviegoers for a lot of it. If I'm not mistaken, Meet The Spartans was the #1 movie when it was released. Of course they're going to keep releasing garbage like that if it's making them a lot of money.
I don't remember a single truly decent movie from the last 3 years, that's pretty sad.
Really? I thought The Zodiac, No Country for Old Men, A Scanner Darkly and Knocked Up, among others, were excellent

Well I'd say 300 was pretty good, but other than that the highlights have been few.
Oh, Transformers was great as well. But I guess I'm slightly biased here. I'd have liked it if all they did was transform and blow things up
PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.
Supporting big shoulderpads and flashy armor since 2004.

Well, I have different standards. No Country for Old Men was probably the only one even worth mentioning. And A Scanner Darkly is mostly an arthouse film, they're published by Warner Independent, not exactly Hollywood. Besides, I think the movie is pretty pointless.

300 is a perverted screening of history. I don't see anything good about it.

Transformers was just awful. A teenage couple running around with robots and somehow saving the world. I'd rather watch The Core, or something, at least they have adults saving the world.
Equinox, the main thing about 300 and Transformers was the ACTION (Transformers had some decent comedy). You don't understand this obviously. You always go to technical and shit :/
I don't really pay attention to movies much. So I wouldn't know if they're going down. I know that the quality of comedy movies are going down... but that's the only genre I know about.

Sorry, this is going to be incredibly off topic: Yay, Equinox is back
Done.

I don't really watch movies- only the occasional book-to-movie thing if the original book was good (usually these conversions end rather poorly), but I'm just fine with books. The kind without pictures. Most movies aren't appealing to my taste, anymore, anyway.
Don't feel like reading this all, but read the first page.
First off, Harold and Kumar was HILARIOUS! If you don't like raunchy comedy then why would you even go and see that in the first place?
As far as my opinion on movies and the quality of them....
I feel that creatively, Hollywood is in a slump. There are so many remakes that are being done. To name a recent, Get Smart. It's a remake of a 60s TV series. Get Smart was HORRIBLE! It was trying to be an action/comedy and failed in both departments. Steve Carell is a funny guy, but not even he could save Get Smart.
Also, the fact that Hollywood keeps pushing out more comic hero movies, versus originals is a sign in itself.
So basically the quality of movies is going down, hopefully we'll see a return but I'm doubtful it will be in the next couple of years.
You said action is worthless. I said I thought it was entertaining. So how is that besides the point? Action isn't worthless when it's entertaining.
I don't watch movies for sole entertainment. If I just want to be entertained I can find something else to do. Worthless means it's not of any deep value. It doesn't bring on thoughts, or breach standards, or bring anything unique. It's old, boring, outdated. It's hard to be entertained by it.
No. Maybe the quality of mainstream movies - bigger budgets so less focus on story and more focus on pretty shiny things.

What movies are you into? Most movies just repeat the same formula that has been done before. I don't mind a bit of action though I prefer movies like Memento, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless mind etc. I reckon every genre has it's place. You can't watch the same type of movie all the time. Some movies are thought provoking, some are just for entertainment purposes on a rainy Sunday afternoon.
I watched Sunshine yesterday expecting it to be terrible. I was pretty suprised. The last 3rd of the movie kinda ruins it, though.
300 is one of the worst movies I have ever seen, by the way. It had a few moments of cool action but I just didn't get it.
I truly do not think that the quality is any different to, say, 10-15 years ago. There have always been bad movies and there have always been exceptional movies. It's just like books and any other form of entertainment.
