Wasn't that on Cartoon network? It screen it in 5 minute long episodes. Then after each one had been aired, a while later they compiled them into a contiuous movie.
And yeah, it's meant to be like that.

-Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's First Law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only, truth.
Seriously, how long can they rehash on these little in-between stories? It's just like when the new movies were coming out and there were like five books in between each of them that were only indirectly related to the main story.
I'll take some consolation from the assumption that this is really just Lucas acknowledging that all his movies look like cartoons anyway and he's no longer gonna fake it otherwise.
Why don't they just make a new movie based on The New Jedi Order or something where they are battling the Yuuzhan Vong?
The original books that Lucas based the movies on still have 3 more movies worth left. Thing is, the way he is putting the main movies out, episode seven, eight, and nine will not get out before he dies.
After episode nine, he better not make any more, considering that's the end of the books...
I think Star Wars fans should feel offended by this Clone Wars thing. It looks like something they'd play Saturday mornings as a weekly miniseries. Not something one should have to pay nine dollars to see at a theater. But Star Wars fans are gonna lap it up regardless and continue to hail Lucas as their god.

There are three spin off movies, which have been dubbed episodes 7 8 and 9.
One is Ewok: The Battle for Endor, and I can't remember the other two.

Its supposed to kick off the animated series thats coming out.
And the series is gonna look like that? See this is my problem with Lucasfilm. He could just as easily kick off the series on television. But there won't be as much money in that. And yes, I understand they're free to do whatever they want to try and make more money. I'm not necessarily against that. I just wish Star Wars fans would stick it to Lucasfilm more and demand a better product for their money and loyalty.
It's just like when Episode 1 was released for purchase. At first, you could only buy it on VHS. So all the Star Wars fans foaming at the mouths went and bought it anyway because they couldn't wait for the DVD release. Then months later, they release the DVD and the same people just buy the same movie twice. They claim to have all these particular reasons why it wasn't released on DVD the same time it was released on VHS, but I don't buy any of it.
There is a new series in the works that is supposed to be quite awesome. It won't be made for younger kids. It will be rated 14+. If I recall correctly, the entire series will take place between Episode 2 and Episode 3.
There will not be movies for episodes 7-9. The Clone Wars is just a transition between movies and the new TV series.
Here is a trailer of it, I think it looks absolutely rediculous.

Yes, those are NOT Episodes seven, eight, and nine.
Edit: Found it. Seven is The Hidden Circle, Eight is The Republic in Crisis, and Nine is Victory of the Force.
Isn't it pretty much a rule that if you post in a thread you might as well do the poll?

No... They are still in book form...
They will be movies just like 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 were.
(If Lucas lives long enough to make them.)
How long was it for 1, 2, and 3 to come out after 4, 5, and 6?????
Exactly my point. I don't know if he will live long enough...
