So, you're saying your mom used to be skinny, gained wait, has no metabolism, and cannot for the life of her get one back? Sounds a lot like not proof to me.
Yeah, I do martial arts, and a bit of weightlifting. I'm starting a new workout program tomorrow and I can't wait to begin. To be honest, it's almost been 2 months since I worked out on a weekly basis. I had a fractured rib that made take a break from the weights and since then, I've been playing video games a lot. Sorry for going off topic.
One of my friends is really in to it and he does tones of research on it, to get the best results from his training programs, exercises and such. He gives me many tips and helps me train sometimes.
To put my 2 cents in at one of the topics discussed; You shouldn't push yourself to a state where you have pains and are unable to continue the activity. Doing this may cause problems and lead to injuries and further injuries which may result to you one having to go to the specialist and be diagnosed. I have my own experiences in these matters. When I did bicep curls, I had a bad stance and used to have back pains. Having the same philosophy as Equinox, i taught nothing of it and kept going. A few months later, I woke up one morning and couldn't stand up, because my back was in so much pain. Luckily, it was during the summer and I had time to rest up before school started. It took me 2 weeks before I fully recovered and my back will never be the same again. In conclusion, pushing yourself to your limits is a good thing, but only when you do not suffer pain a result caused of the straining of your muscles.

I like the life I lived, because I went from negative to positive.
You know very well who you are, don't let them hold you down, reach for the stars.

Please do not bring my philosophy in here when you didn't understand what I said.
By "pain" I meant the uncomfortable state, such as lack of breath, tiredness, lactic acid burning, etc. Not serious pain such as pain in the pancreas, lungs, heart (God no), or places like the back or neck and other bony parts. No one should do anything when with that pain (unless it's a matter of life and death, lol).
I'm with Equinox on this one, if you're unfit you're going to have to feel discomfort and some pain to get fit. Muscles don't just magically grow, they have to be pushed.
I lost 17 kilo's in the last year by following 2 simple philosophies.
1) Eat smart but NEVER go on a diet.
2) Do some exercise and actually do it in a way so you can count calories to start with; like on a treadmill or step machine. It's important to know how much work you have to do to burn calories. Once you understand that you'll never eat Krispy Kreme donuts again.
Everyone diets my friend. Dieting doesn't mean taking a cut back on eating, but more or less it means how you eat. My friend as a diet where he as to eat over 3000 calories a day. I have one where it's around half that. Some other people have a diet where they eat what ever they want without watching what they eat. Dieting is a way of eating , lots of people use that therm as something anorectics do.

I wrestled for about 11 years. I was in top physical shape when I was doing it though. I would train for 3-4 hours a day. Now I just coach and weight train and run to keep in shape. I hit the gym 4-5 times a week for 2 hours at a time.

Diet is obviously what you eat. Being pedantic over word meanings is really rather pointless given every word I could use you could argue about which nuanced meaning I am referring to. In this case I was obviously using it in reference to specifically restricting or changing your eating patterns.
Going on a diet will end in more weight put on than lost unless you are very well disciplined, like an athlete or sports person for instance. However, if you are in the situation where you need to lose weight and get fit I would doubt that very much. Conscious deprivation is a psychological effect that has been proven time and again in clinical studies to result in binge eating and net gain in weight.
You also have to roll around in spandex with another sweaty guy... fuck that.
Get over it. It's a combat sport what do you expect?

But your IQ is near 0.
I guess you have come across some pretty dumb people that have wrestled. Thats not lilkely the case. Most are smart and end up going to really good jobs and are successful.
Remember the conversation we had about intellectuals and how we wanted more?

I will do no such thing. Also, it's hardly combat. Put a wrestler in a ring with someone who has training in some other form of combat and watch them get molested. Then we'll talk "combat" sports.

To find the truth, you must risk everything.

You have to admit that he's good.
Not necessarily.
It's the decisions you make when you have no time to make them that define who you are.

But to each there own I guess.
No points for redundancy.

In my highschool. The majority of the wrestlers were in football as well.
I was in wrestling during 8th grade. It requires more of a cardiovascular work out then people give credit. Very strenuous tough sport.
