Well some people don't want to share if they got scammed because it is a mark of being a noob so I just wanted to tell them they got scammed w/o anyone knowing who they were.

Federer lost Wimbledon. Why? Becase none of you bastards cheered for him...
I was trading for Griffs last ladder, trading a p mp nigma, a few pcombs, maras, and a nice windy pelt. It was a steal on my part. In any case, he said he didn't have enough room and exited the trade screen, then reissued it and put the supposed Griffs on. I traded instantly, too excited to check. BAM! Scammed. It was some tiara or something.
Like a week after I started off I got hack in the strangest way by some website trick. After you'd click on some link it would make you drop all your items and your mouse would start randomly click everything. The weird thing was that the guy that hack me gave me back all my stuff. I guess he didn't like my noobish gear, but I didn't complain.:D
When I first started playing I was scammed once but I didnt lose much, I learnt alot though so I thank that person for waking me up to the cut-throat community of RPG gamers.... hehe
Well here was me, with my 3 level 90 characters, a couple 80s, and a mule. I was sitting around a chatroom when all of a sudden two guys start to argue. Everyone is quiet but I eventually join up and I go against this one guy. It lasted pretty long and there were a couple words thrown across that my mom would not like to see. Well anyway, he started to freak out and told me that if I don't shut up, he will own me. So I said how. Then all of a sudden I got a message "Lost Connection to Battle.net" and then I lagged out. I tried to log back on but I got the "Password doesn't work" shit. I registered an e-mail but I never got the e-mail back.
when i first startedplaying like way too long ago... i was noob and would fall for anything... been scammed... acct been keylogged but now im rich so who cares
I've been scammed by others, and "hacked" by Blizzard itself.
I have not scammed, but I have hacked the game (such as dupes etc), but never hacked a player.
tradingyo you gotta gimme some shit lol if you know how to dupe haha
I don't
I did before the reset.
My dupe method was patched. There are still dupers (a few friends of mine know) but I don't play d2 anymore. I'm thinking of restarting.
My views:
Hacking others is obviously wrong (such as brute, keyloggers), but you know what? Duping is part of the D2 economy.
What do you think happens if people were trading pul runes, instead of mass High runes.
What would happen to the enigmas? Without enigmas what happens to rushes/baal runs?
You know what grushes are also sort of "hacking" because you are exploiting a bug in Diablo.
Duping is also exploiting a problem in Bnet. It's Blizzard's problem for not patching up dupes/glitches.
Uber leveling is also exploiting a problem in BNet. How can a person go from level 1-80 in 1 hour legitly?
When I duped, I constantly told others how to dupe, because it wouldn't be fair if everyone else duped (last season.. dupes were VERY common)
I gave away around 20torches a day, because organsets were duped massively. Blizzard does not ban you for duping, but they ban you for using maphack, and bots.
Why? Because it's not your problem you find a glitch in the game. I won't lie either, I have used maphack (A lot of people do), and d2loader (essential for dupes lol), but never botted. As long as your not harming others, I think it's not as bad. Obviously duping is not legit, but you can't blame dupers for ruining the game, and duping is still wrong, but not to the extent of hacking others for personal gain
Also, a lot of people think they got "hacked", a lot of this is outside of battlenet. Keyloggers etc. Not many people know how to directly hack. Some may even be data lost in Bnet's database. I had an entire pally and sorc who had it's items lost in bnets database (This pally was worth thousands of high runes, all legit 40+pcombat lifers, panni, perf ptorch, pcoa, penigma, etc) In the end, I'm saying hacks aren't too common. Not many can bruteforce into accounts. Nonetheless it's still wrong.

Blizzard "hacked" you? Can you go into this further?
I think it's silly that someone would get banned for using Maphack before duping. Maphack was just my way of more efficiently getting runes and keys. I think flat out duping seems way worse than that.

Think of it this way, Maphack is a program that is not meant to be in the game. Random mapping is what Blizzard intended for. Maphack is a program you must download, and even the program itself says: I agree not to use this program for battlenet. This is against the rules of Battle.net and Diablo 2.
Duping is done by taking advantage of a glitch in the server. It's not our problem if we discover a bug that allows us to take advantage of it. Is it right? Probably not. But it's Blizzard's problem for not patching it. Duping or hacks almost never happen in WoW, because it's constantly patched. Blizzard realizes that duping is not against the rules, because you are exploiting their problems, therefore they cannot ban you. It's like taking candy from a baby. You exploit the fact that the baby is not very bright, so you can easily steal his candy. Obviously it's not the best example... but you get my point. It's not our fault, it's more like Blizzard's mistake. (nonetheless I don't support duping. I told myself I wouldn't dupe, until everyone around me was, and the economy was changing too much for me to control)
How blizzard "hacked" me? Well... I'll just say I did some things that was not the best (it wasn't illegal or scamming, dont worry lol. I'm pretty sure you know I'm a nice guy, ur the guy i gave a bunch of random shit to right?) but was not bannable. Blizzard decided to take action by deleting all my characters off their database "accidently". A couple of my friends have had this too. Because sometimes Blizzard does lose character info in their database... but I don't think mine was a coincidence.

so don't come here and post that there is one because I already know.
But anyway, I wanted to ask the question to all of you:
Have you ever been scammed or hacked?
And if you did get scammed or hacked, talk about it.
(This is going to be a non-public poll)
