it was in middle school, we put together a video where we had to ask one of the actors from the movie questions, it was something really stupid. and instead of having the actual actor, we had to play roles. i didn't see a point in it but whatever.
The best part, the very best part of that gold was the credits. Made me cry. I then slammed my testicles in a door. (Not really. That would hurt! Then again so did Titanic...)
You loved Titanic? You're out of your damned mind. That movie was the biggest piece of high budget Hollywood shit ever to rape my mind and insult my intelligence.
Talk about a lame ass love story between two actors who have virtually no chemistry together. And your typical heart of ice villain Billy Zane who has absolutely no redeeming qualities just so the audience isn't conflicted when his rich bitch girlfriend cheats on him. "Oooh, that rich guy is evil. I have no sympathy for his situation whatsoever. Just like in real life. There are always people who are good or evil and never simply human."
And the last hour of that movie, I was seriously just fast forwarding through so many parts just because it was actually very very boring just to watch the ship slowly fall apart and sink. It's seriously the second half of the movie and there are a bunch of unlikable character running around like chickens with their heads cut off and the stupid orchestra playing anyway cause it's noble or something and all I can think is, "Um, why do I care that these people are gonna die?"
Furthermore, Celine Dion can eat my mighty poo. I'll never forget when her shitty ass cliche love song won the Grammy over Elliott Smith's Miss Misery. And Celine walks up to accept her award like she's actually surprised her bribes in place secured her the Grammy.
I'm sorry, fbim, but you have awful tastes in movies. To actually go as far as to make a thread about the Titanic, a three hour yawn fest about a bunch of people who don't deserve to live and a poor Leonado Dicaprio running around like a pink flamingo with a boner, you really should know better. Or should you?
And where is your poll option titled, "It was a shitfest beyond belief!"
I totally disagree with you.
One, the second half of the movie of when the Titanic was sinking was amazing. Mostly because it was 100& depressing and really dramatic.
Two, Titanic's soundtrack was amazing as well. I love it. I don't get how you cannot say that Celine Dion is one of the best romanitic singers (I think that's what you call them) of all time.
Three, it was set in a time period where all poor people were considered "garbage" so no one wanted Rose to be with Jack. Don't say it's "typicial". It was more realistic actually.
Four, even though I admit that some parts were cheesy and awkward and that the love between Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio (I think I spelled his name wrong) could have been better, it was sill pretty good and had very good moments where you could the love.
Five, how the hell could you say "all I can think is, 'Um, why do I care that these people are gonna die?'" You should care since that really happened and that 1500 people really did die on April 15th, 1912.

Thats my favorite part, amazing use of a dimensional timeloop.
wait so did you like the movie or did you not?

Seriously though, why is such an accadent made into a romance movie? Do we have evidence that half that shit happened? Of course not! A ship sunk in the Atlantic, thats about all thats based on fact from that damn movie, give or take.

the love story is fictional. they just wanted to make the movie more interesting.

That's a response to fbim saying that 1500 really did die on some day of some month of which I don't care about on some year, 1912, a year I definitly don't care about.

I don't think I'll argue this point with you. I may brood over the fact that I have better tastes in music than you. But I shalln't argue about music here. Celine Dion as a person, however, is rather reprehensible. A wretched human being.

I'm not saying a poor person loving a rich person is unrealistic. What kind of elitist pig do you take me for? All I'm saying is the romance portrayed between Winslet and Dicaprio is awful and contrived. The two have no chemistry on screen. It was horribly casted. And I actually think they're both decent actors. They just happen to be casted and directed poorly in that movie.

I got to see her tits which was fine for me. Besides that, I still stand by my last point about the two on screen.

Who said I didn't care about the people who died in real life? I certainly didn't say that. What I said was that there weren't any likable people in the movie. So when the people died in the movie, they are actually doing the real victims an injustice. And didn't you say the Titanic sinking was amazing? How can you say that? Don't you know that real people died during that tragedy? Next thing you know we're gonna piss on their graves by making an elaborate speciel effects scene depicting people dying for over an hour. Oh wait....
Well you can't say that you have a better taste in movies and music since we are different people and there will be no point in arguing over it.

I still have a problem with your poll though. You have no option for hating it. But at least the aggregate goes with the lesser evil by saying it's not that great.

I didn't come to my mind that someone would hate such a brilliant and intelligent movie. Not like it, maybe, but HATE?!?!?!?!?!?
