Recently my computer has been under-performing in games though, and i may be looking for a new anti virus; after looking at other options to see why my CPU is not performing correctly. >_<
i as well have avg. and i noticed that where the time is there are all those little pictures. (sorry dont know the correct term) but i noticed the avg symbol and a little play looking picture. and that picture says that your computer is scanning for viruses. i noticed this when i played diablo 2 and the game was REALLY slow. so i i cancled the scan aand my game was back at normal speed. hope this helps.

Hmm, it's actually just been generally slow. If i get <10 fps i know that its scanning and i usually re-schedule it. I'm going to be reformatting soon once i backup diablo2 and stuff.
Uh. No. If you are even remotely intelligent, you can set up your computer so that when you reformat, you lose nothing. I could reformat right now and keep everything but my Windows files.
I used to remove everything on the hard drive with my old PC.

It's the decisions you make when you have no time to make them that define who you are.
You will as soon as you lose something incredibly important because of a virus.
I don't keep anything incredibly important on my computer. That's the point. You think if you install a couple anti-virus on your PC it's going to save you from someone breaking in and stealing your credit cards (or w/e is sooo important to you you need an anti-virus) if they really have an issue with you?

Only if you want to. I prefer to save my stuff to DVD's, but whatever I don't need I don't have the will to delete, so I just reinstall once in a while and start from a fresh page. xD

I kinda did that too a few times, but I only got like 2 viruses that I have noticed in my entire computer life so I am not good at that stuff.

Don't ever buy Norton Antivirus.....it is more dissapointmenting than buying an IPOD and having it break the next day and unable to get it fix ~,~.
I use Spyware Terminator in conjunction with CLAM antivirus ^^ its free.
Ad-aware and Spy-bot Search n Destroy also works really well :]

We have Symantec in our school. It slows down the entire computer network. Sometimes the computer doesn't even react, you just have VPTray taking 70 CPU, hmm...
I used to have a trial of Norton. It was OK, but I don't feel like paying for something as lousy as an anti-virus...

Fuck you, I'm a dragon.
Even if it's running, doesn't affect me much on account of having a quad-core.

Intel or AMD? Do you overclock?
I've been trying to get my CPU usage up to 100%... it refuses... its almost like a challenge for me now

Intel. Yes I overclock. It's running at 3.6 GHz (up from 2.4 GHz) right now.
The only way to stress a quad-core to 100% is to use synthetic tests like prime95.
