I saw a tv program once, it was about the earth with no humans. It described what would happen to our buildings, cars, bridges and everything we've built. If our civilization disappears right now, in 5000 years a future civilization wouldn't find anything that proves that we existed.
If you think about it, there could have been many civilizations 8000 years ago, and we'll never know that.

I doubt it, we are finding traces of dinosaurs that lived millions of years ago.
Im pretty sure 8000 years from now there will be plenty of evidence about our existence if we where all to die now.
Just think about it for a moment though. A civilization that existed 8,000 years ago, suddenly disappeared, and the only thing left are glass sheets? No ruins whatsoever? No buried spacecraft of the past somewhere undergorund?
Sure there are strange things in our world. But perhaps we should not jump to the most extreme of conclusions as fast as we can.
Well, if an extremely hot wave turns everything into ashes, after 1000 years the place will change because of wind / rain / etc... plants will grow, animals will start living in the area, it turns into wilderness...
I think that we don't find "buried spacecrafts" because maybe those ancient civilizations advanced technologically in a different way than we did... If you are familiar with the butterfly effect, think about it that way... their whole "humanity" might have been affected by different things than ours did, therefore leading to different ways of thinking / inventions / and ways of life...
I read in that link posted above about some Russian scientists that found ruins of an ancient culture somewhere in Pakistan. the people were cremated alive, they found skeletons lying in the streets of this town, untouched... no animals ate the bodies, or no bacteria consumed the bodies...
The logical explanation for this is that some kind of an atomic weapon or any other weapon that its effect is a high temperature degree, and radiation that will prevent life from continuing in these areas for years, maybe a weapon type that our technology did not discover, not because its too advanced for us, but because of things that happened in our history that prevented it from being found or invented... butterfly effect again.
Anyway they also found a high radiation level in the ground. And there were no volcanoes in the area, and no signs of a meteor crash site, so that's why people say "ancient atomic warfare" or "weapons" ....
I hope you can understand what im trying to say lol.
Yep i agree with you Emil, but you know... The speed of light, the distances between us and other planets, the ways of transport that are known to us... This can all change, and we will probably discover new things that no one ever knew before... Alot of things that seem so clear and understandable to us might be total bullshit... Just because all of the scientists and the experiments say one thing, it dosnt mean it is right. They might all be wrong.
What im trying to say is, who said that there isnt something faster than the speed of light that we dont know of?
Or, why coldnt there be a more efficent way of travel rather than actually moving with speed...
Our sun is one of a 100 billion stars in our galaxy. Our galaxy is one of billions of galaxies populating the universe. It would be crazy to think that we are the only living things out in the world and this is on ancient astronauts.
Millions of people accept the theory that intelligent life forms visited Earth thousands of years ago and were worshipped as gods by primitive man. Are monuments like Stonehenge and Easter Island the last remains of an ancient alien visitation? From unexplainable super structures, to knowledge of the solar system, mathematics, and even the ability to make electricity, explores evidence of super-human influences on ancient man and embarks on an around-the-world search for answers. It's an investigation into a theory some believe cannot be true, but many agree cannot be ignored.
Ancient Astronauts were believed to come to the earth a very long time ago, as far back as Ancient Mesopotamia and Ancient Egypt. In theory it was believed that extra terrestrial life forms came to earth and provided us with the basics of agriculture, astronomy, engineering, and provided the first laws to jump start our new way of life on earth.
With all the ancient text from old clay tablets and the holy bible is still to incredible to believe, we still have to deal with the need of physical evidence. Who built the ancient megalithic structures? How were they built? Why the practice of building pyramids at ancient sites all over Earth for a period or time, and then suddenly abandon them? These are all questions that we don?t have solid evidence if humans have actually built them without help from ancient astronauts.
The following clues are in support of the Ancient Astronauts theory come to mind
The pyramids of various styles scattered over the Earth, in Europe, North Africa, the Middle East, the Far East, and in North and South America. They apparently had several functions, serving as burial sites, landmarks, landing sites, bomb shelters, feeding stations, and ceremonial sites
ancient temples all over the Earth; built of enormous stones weighing up to two million pounds. Why and how this was accomplished has not been adequately explained.
The many ancient writings about "gods" who could move through the air - the Bible, and the voyages of the gods as depicted on cylinder seals and Stella from ancient Near Eastern civilizations
Apparently some of the gods were frightful to look at, and took great care to not be seen by humans, except possibly by the highest priests. Could these be aliens?
It was also believe that humans feed the ancient astronauts by the sacrificing of animals, and sometimes humans. These sacrifices happened mostly in south America.
It was also believe that ancient astronauts came down to the earth and gave us humans knowledge of Astronomy and mathematics. The ancient civilizations in both sides of the world, possessed an extensive knowledge of astronomy and mathematics before telescopes and advanced technology. In Egypt the great pyramids were so accurately built that not even we modern day humans could reproduce what Egypt had made. We could not possibly build them as fast as Egypt and we could not have the man power to do so. Now if Ancient Astronauts came down and helped the Egyptians build these mega structures it could be possible that they found out the measurements and helped out with the planning of the pyramids.
So what if these ancient astronauts did come to the earth long ago? What does it mean to us humans? If these theories are true it would mean that most of our technologies that we use today didn?t come from man but from aliens instead. If the Ancient Astronauts theory was true and humans didn?t come up with the basics of agriculture, astronomy, engineering, and provided the first laws to jump start our way of life on earth who did and why?
The biggest stones ever moved were the Trilithon which were a used as the foundation for the Roman Temple of Jupiter located in Baalbek, Lebanon. Each one is 70 feet long, 14 feet high, 10 feet thick, and weigh around 800 tons. People never mention these when talking about "ancient astronauts". People somehow assume just because they didnt have the technology we have nowadays that ancient people were incapable bafoons. They were just as intelligent as you or I.
We weren't brought here by aliens, we evolved this way because of Mount Everest. Long ago Africa was a jungle from coast to coast and chimpanzees reigned as the dominant species, but when mount Everest grew larger it started to cut off the precipitation flowing into Africa, this caused the jungles to recede, leaving the plain lands we see today, as this happened the chimpanzees were slowly forced to live on the plains. The tall grass made us stand upright so we could spot incoming predators, and the lack of vegetation caused us to become omnivorous, the added protein in our diets caused our brains to grow. Just wanted to clear that up...
If you eliminate the probability that it a civilization was annihilated by a nuclear war, or something like a great flood or war or what ever. You are left with two possabilities, the first being a polar shift and the other being a naturally occuring nuclear reaction.
A naturally occuring nuclear reaction is beyond unlikely, but it is possible.
So if there was a pole shift, maybe there are wreckages and artifacts on the South Pole? I don't think the poles would exactly shift so dramatically, but you have to consider that we have no first hand data on such an event, save for a few fossils.

Now that's taking tv-dramatizations too literally.
Ancient Egypt was founded around 5 000 years ago, and prehistoric tools from the stone age and similar have been found from before then. If a stone tool can survive 8000 years, then whatever an advanced civilization left behind must be able to survive a couple of thousand years as well.

A light photon has its "default" speed at lightspeed. A particle has its "default" speed at 0. A particle can accelerate to the point when it reaches lightspeed, the forces that accelerates the particle can not accelerate it more than that, and if it something that we don't know of would accelerate more, it would shatter the particles into subparticles and finaly into energy, or photons. A photon can never accelerate beyond lightspeed because there is nothing that can accelerate it. In theory, it would be able to travel at infinite speeds if it didn't meet the resistance of vacuum energy.
Not quite. A particle's default speed isn't zero, and you definately cannot accelerate matter to light-speed. You can get very close, but the required energy to accelerate matter increases exponentially as you approach light speed.
About that vacuum energy thing, I've never even heard of it.
Quote from "emilemil1" »
And when space is stretching faster, then the vacuum energies power is changed and the photons will move faster to maintain its constant value. The constant value is the value of anti-gravity and can not be experienced any different that it already is.
Say what?
Quote from "emilemil1" »
Now we have entered the second part of the quote. There you have it. The vacuum is moving faster than light. But not the matter, never the matter. If the anti-gravitational energies would become so powerful that they exceed gravity and accelerates subparticles away from eachother, then everything in the galaxy, except from black holes, would be turned into photons immediately. The world would not consist of mass anymore, mass is matter and is a object created and controled by gravity. The world would consist of vacuum energy (which equals mass for gravity), it would consist of anti-matter which works the opposite way of gravity.
That doesn't make any sense at all. The expansion of space doesn't remove the gravitational force between matter, and it certainly won't turn matter into photons.
Quote from "emilemil1" »
So if we can find a way to make gravity stronger than anti-gravity, then everything in the universe would move back together, then if we could turn everything back to normal once we have got the alien planet close enough, then we would have successfully found a easier way of transportation. But yeah, the increased gravity would probably destroy us all And we would still not be able to move faster than light because the constant will allways remain the same.
Yeah. And causing the universe to collapse instead of expanding seems like the easiest approach to travelling to other planets.

About 100 billion stars in the Milky Way, most (if not all) of them with planets. At least 80 billion galaxies in the universe, probably at least 125 judging by what Hubble has seen, but let's take the 80 billion. Some galaxies are, of course, much larger than the Milky Way, and some much smaller, but if we (very conservatively) predict 80 billion galaxies at an average of 100 billion stars per galaxy and four planets per star, that's still 32 quadrillion planets.
Life elsewhere seems very probable.
However, that even one cell of it is so much as aware of our existence seems very improbable, given the unfathomably vast distances I'd rather not get into, since I'm typing with only my left hand, thanks to injury.
Anyway, it's very important to distinguish between the two. I fear UFO enthusiasts are typically a little confused between probability of existence and probability of contact. Not to mention how to logically seek evidence rather than constantly fabricating it.
If we ever do make contact, it is going to be the most tragic example of the consequences of 'crying wolf' ever.

Edgar Mitchell, respected Astronaut who walked on the moon, admits aliens exist.

He mentions that he believes disclosure is very near, and there is enough evidence out as we speak. That brings several questions…
1. How will the public react? Will we all accept the fact, and get on with our lives? Will we panic, will we be mad at the government?
2. How will this affect religion (specifically Christianity)? Many Christians firmly believe we are the only life form on Earth, but the truth is, the existence of Aliens do not contradict with the Bible.

Here's some more crap to read if you are thick-minded about aliens NOT EXISTING.
The Battle of Los Angeles
The Battle of Los Angeles is an event that is often unheard of or forgotten. However, it could be the most important event in the history of alien experiences. The year was 1942 shortly after our country had entered the war. The military spotted an unidentified flying object over the city and immediately assumed that it was a Japanese aircraft. There was a blackout in the city as the air raid sirens were sounded and the military positioned itself for attack. Spotlights flooded the craft and the assault began. For what some say was over an hour (although other reports say 20 minutes) our military unleashed a firestorm of bullets and anti- aircraft artillery at the alien spacecraft. However, they were unsuccessful at bringing down the strange object in the sky. At least one person in the area died of heart failure because of the panic brought forth from this object. A cease fire was eventually called and the questions immediately began to surface. Having absolutely no answers as to what the UFO was initially, the military soon came forward with an explanation. You guessed it. A weather balloon. Our military had engaged in battle with a balloon. In this battle, that they had apparently lost, nobody seemed to notice, even with multiple spotlights that they were firing at a weather balloon. They were also unable to bring down this balloon, even with the awesome firepower unleashed upon it. Tough balloon? Or something else? Five years later, the most famous alleged U.F.O. crash in history occurred in Roswell NM. The government was there to pick up the pieces and once again, let the public know that it was nothing more than a weather balloon that had crashed that day. Something seems strange about both of these occurrences and it seems like the public has been left in the dark.

Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able, and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God. -Epicurus-Athiests- Winning since 33 A.D
