well, i finally got my hands on #2 of the Sin War trilogy. too bad i couldnt get #1, they were sold out. it should be here in under a week, so ill just wait. however my fascination took hold as i wanted to start reading the first chapter, as all us diablo fans are enchanted to do. as i flipped to the first page, i saw:
The Sin War
Scales of the Serpent
Richard A. Knaak
and i turned the page, to the page usually used by authors to dedicate the book to those that inspired or helped them through the writing process. this is what i see:
For all the loyal and very patient fans
of the World of Sanctuary
and my hopes renewed again. ol' rich wants us to stay patient, and to keep hope. its yet another clue that what we want is coming, diablo 3. he is writing books to make some money, but think about it. why would he say that? surely he knows what those words would mean to the desperate community he knows are fervently loyal, and losing patience.
it then occurred to me, that knaak is the strongest pillar of hope, our most open nudge-nudger, the guy that winks whenever he repeats what blizzard says when asked about diablo 3. darkjay and i are very strong drum beaters of keeping hope and such, but we dont know whats going on in the background. knaak is working together with blizzard to plan everything that will happen in d3.
keep hope, admirers of the giant lizard we call diablo, he will indeed return for us to kill again!!!
man of course you should search google for a interveiw with knaack where they ask him if the writing of the sin war has anything to do with the creation of a third diablo and he replied "well im not writing for a dead game"
Knaak probably fully knew the implications of writing that on the dedication page of the book. it was done on purpose, sadly enough i think the third installment of the sin war will come before the announcement of diablo 3. great find.
it will come before the game, but not in vain. it will set the path which the game will continue on, and it is to provide us with more knowledge of the universe. its awesome to think that we can create complete worlds, civilizations, and conflicts. not only that, but this man is able to write it all down!! amazing is just one of his descriptions.
