On this day, over 200 years ago, 13 british colonies declared independence against the will of the world superpower at the time. A new idea so revolutionary inspired them, the idea that men are created equal and that all men had the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. The Leaders of these 13 colonies were among the greatest of their time, and they entrusted upon one man to effectively illustrated their independence in a single document.
Thomas Jefferson wrote the single most important document in the history of the world, the Declaration of Independence. In this document he effectively declared independence from Britain, and listed the values upon which a nation would be founded on. On July 4th 1776 the 13 colonies of America united as one to declare their discontent and independence from the most powerful country in the world, something unheard of.
These 13 colonies would later defend themselves from the great superpower, and go on to form a country, the United States of America. They formed a Constitution upon which they would live under. They created parties of politics and had successful elections. The United States of America was born on July 4th, 1776.
The Great Experiment it was called, the idea so powerful that a handful of farmers would stand up to the greatest military power the world had seen, that all men were equal. Today, the United States of America is the greatest country the world has ever seen. In a mere 231 years, the great experiment has changed the world so much. A baby as a country still, the United States certainly lives to the great document that set it free, the Declaration of Independence.
If you are American, and are proud of your country as well as gratefull for the men that worked hard and died for it, join me in taking some time from your day to give credit to those who started this country, and those that have kept it alive.
If you are not American, join us too. Give thanks to this country for the good it has given to the world. Give thanks not to me or my peers, but to those that have revolutionized the way of being, the inventors that started what we now have today, and the country who has opened its arms for many fleeing anarchy, deppresion, or merely sought a better life for their family.
If you do not agree with us, do not slander us, or tell us how wrong we are. Please reserve your hatred from us at least on this day. Have respect for our believes. Our nation played a major role in giving value to an individuals believes, as well as influencing other countries to do the same. If you do feel the right to attack us on this day, please save your wrath for another day.
Thank you, for reading and taking part in one of my strongest truths.
Today, the United States of America is the greatest country the world has ever seen.

We gotta make a change...
It's time for us as a people to start makin' some changes.
Let's change the way we eat, let's change the way we live
and let's change the way we treat each other.

We went from the greatest minds of their day, to today's most craziest jackasses in the world, interesting. Thank you Paris, Jesse Jackson, Nicol Richie, Anna Nicole Smith, Michael Moore and many others.
The US is still the greatest nation in the world. I just wish we can boot out all the jackasses that don't appreciate it and think they know better.

I second your opinion.

After reading a few of your posts, I wouldn't mind getting into a political debate here. However, I'll just save that, hoping someone will start a new political question thread.
Anyway, yes the 4th was great this year. We got a ton of fireworks and made hamburgers and steaks. Then at night, it's really cool cause you can see like five different firework shows from our house. I had a great time.
yes, not to mention we took back the hotdog eating championship. i wouldnt mind getting into a political debate either, but lately i just dont have the time for it.
On the contrary, competitive eating is becoming very popular all over the world. I can't watch it, myself. It makes me feel like throwing up. Nevertheless...
Yeah, that's that same guy who was the reigning champion for like six years, but was recently defeated by an American.
What's strange to me is I don't know how you train for something like that. I cannot even imagine what kind of bowel movement those guys make after the contest.
