Mine google search is retarded. All it shows for "Thasador" is pics from the forum, either myself in the thread or threads i have started and google just takes the first pic of the web address. ><

Back in the day before Google really caught on, I remember how Altavista was really popular. I used it all the time. Even after people were telling me to start using Google. I use Google now of course, but I've boycotted Yahoo!, and I'm not sure what else I'd search through. Maybe my local library.

hmm, never used yahoo, gonna try it (why do you boycot it btw?)
Well, even though Google has pandered to Chinese's totalitarian tendencies by censoring its search results to matters sensitive to China, Yahoo! went the extra mile by helping the Chinese government identify the Chinese journalist who warned international journalists of the social unrest that would likely take place during the 15th anniversary of the Tiananmen Square massacre. And now that journalist is spending ten years in prison because of Yahoo's desire to do business with China and revive its struggling search engine and email account system.
From a business standpoint, I can't say I blame Yahoo, really. I mean, doing business with the Chinese has become a necessity for most large American companies. But from an ethical standpoint, I just hate the way Yahoo tries to look like this man-of-the-people underdog company representing innovation and free exchange of ideas when really they're no better than any other large corporation.
Besides my political reasons, however, I've just never been a fan of its browser. It's overall kind of crappy and sloppy looking. But perhaps someone around here uses Yahoo a lot and can dispute why it's actually a good browser. I'm sure it has nice features and such. But I've not really used it in some time.
Is it being used as much as google? (like having as many searchresults and whatnot)
I really can't imagine Yahoo gets as much traffic as Google or has better search results. Sometimes though it can be interesting to search the same topic on multiple search engines to see what results you get.

I'm with you on the political side and i know it sounds cliché but what can you do. (besides ofcourse not using it as a symbolic gesture)
Oh and google sucks too. (on the corporale political side)
But objectively speaking they are kinda the same quality wise or does Yahoo! lack in certain aspects?
A key example of Google's and Yahoo's censorship in China is if you Google Image search Tiananmen Square in any other country except China, you'll get this iconic image:
However, you will not find this image in China. Instead you'll just get some nice touristy looking pictures of Tiananmen Square where people are enjoying walking around. But not the Tank Man.
