Well, the effects of the brain that we can see (reactions, habits, personalities etc.) and how it reacts may not be dim, but the actual processes and inner workings of it are still in question.
So any person who's brain isn't developing as it should then?

Here's my posistion on abortion- I am a chrisitian/catholic, and I do believe in most instances the killing of a life form , a human created by the Lord, is wrong- HOWEVER. I believe if you are raped, and you become empregnated, it is your persnal right to abort that child. Unless of course God says no. But I believe in the case of real, full on rape you are allowed- any other time I believe it to be wrong.

Only while they are in the man. If you cut your hair, or if you get a tooth out, or give some blood, or give a kidney to somebody, it isn't really your property anymore, is it?
Morals don't talk about any obligations of a woman over HER OWN body. They talk about killing, but I told you before, that kind of killing is same as killing animals, and killing animals is moral.

slowness or limitation in intellectual understanding and awareness, emotional development, academic progress, etc.
A broader definition of retardation, to suit everyone.

That's a subjective statement. One cannot use that to suit their own argument to come to an objective conclusion. But then again, this is the same person who said that she doesn't use conclusive data when it comes to these matters.
Besides, that argument sounds like it's based on the idea that it loses it's genetic heritage once it becomes disunited with the body. By that same argument, one could argue that there is no such thing as a father, as the chromosomes are no longer the male's once it leaves the body.

Morals maybe?
And yes, the viability of abortion can be argued with morals, because it is technically murder to kill a fetus that has been proven to be alive.

They do. That's why pro-choice people say that the woman has a right to choose. In other words, the moral issue is left up to the woman.
But there have been prematures babies delivered up to 17 weeks earlier than nine months and went on to survive and had fairly normal lives.
They aren't fetuses at this point. This reason is coupled with why I believe that second and third trimester abortions are not moral on any basis. They have already developed nervous systems (making them capable of reacting to stimuli, thus, scientifically speaking, contributing to intelligence), as well as other vital systems.
But in the case of a mother and/or the child dying, abortion should be legal, for the preservation of at least one life.
I'll get back to this. Gotta go to church for Good Friday.
let me ask this... if you would go kill a fetus in some1 else what would happen?
Depends on how you kill thim, but for the most part, nothing, except some stuff that aren't a lot worse than menstruation... a fetus won't survive without a mother, though.

Depends on what the heck did that quote meant.
Probably not.
Got it from Wordnet as a definition for retardation.
