I could've sworn I had posted in this thread. Anyways, I like samurais, because of Thasador's reasons. I am a man of honor. I will not stab you while you aren't looking, that is childish and death worthy.
ok to me not stabbing the guy in the back is stupid. I tend to side with survival and not honor. If he had his back turned i look at it as his fault and im the better warrior. survival over honor, thats my motto.:D
Plus, make no mistake about it. It's either stab or be stabbed in the back. Sure, there are rules of engagement, but do people truly think in the end if it was a matter of survival, you wouldn't break some rules to increase your chances of living?

Most would. But it requires nerves of steel not to do so and instead remain "honorable".
PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.

Riiight, all samurai were super beings with hightened senses and could never be stabbed in the back, just like ninjas were super beings that were able to dissappear in broad daylight...
So, even if we look at it in the highly fantastical point of view, they're still about the same in terms of skill and power.
Mongolians are not simular to Ninja's or Samurai's. Though Mongolians are pretty awesome with their Barbaric looks...I wanted to discuss a topic that are very simular which took place in ancient Japan.

Dunno, slow technologists, they would, in any case, die out eventually...
Yikes! I hate to get really off topic here, but how do you reckon we need technology to survive? As technology becomes more advanced, so does each paradigm shift become much more difficult to survive. True, as we survive each one, our capacity to go on is increased, but only to face the next shift one day where we come closer and closer to destroying ourselves.
But since Mongolians were over by China and not Japan. I withdraw my comment.

I suspect Equinox meant in comparison to the rest of the world. We do not need technology to survive, but those that are the most advanced have a greater chance of dominating the rest that aren't.

I suspected that's what he might have meant. And I'm sure that was probably the case with the Mongolians, along with internal problems.
However, I can't help think of nuclear weapons. A country today that doesn't have them won't necessarily need them. All they need to do is ally themselves with other countries that have them. Then we have community nukes.

But allies can be backstabbed (like Ninjas :D). And an ally without nukes won't have many leverages to pull.

Those nuclear weapons you so fear may get rid us of incoming asteroids. There has been much talk on that topic for years now. Besides, a nuclear bomb would cause apocalypse in the worst case, so then we'll just have one of those post-apocalypse worlds. I think an asteroid is worse. OK, this doesn't make any sense, I just wanted to say that I don't feel bombs are a threat. In fact, I believe there will be no more major wars between Europe, USSR, or America anymore. That time is past, we fight with intelligence now, economically, unless it's some derelict country in Africa.
The more techno we are, the better we live, even though many tend to dissagree and go around writing deutopian books. But no one discards women anymore, no one forces children to work anymore, I think the techno tread causes the morality of humanity to rise, even though they cause a few other very nasty factors, but I prefer that to Ancient Rome, I just do...

Yeah, no doubt that wars are fought more economically now than ever (part of the EU's conception was founded on the idea of making actual war obsolete and replacing it with economics).
But I'm really not sure what your point is. I'm not against technology. I certainly have never understood the strategic use of nuclear weapons. But I don't think there's any misconceptions about it being more a political weapon. But I also don't know how keeping nuclear weapons around is good for fighting asteroids. How does anyone know a nuke would deter an asteroid anyway? And I seriously doubt if you took the grand tour of Norad that anyone would say, "And here's where the guy sits with the key to be ready to shoot down an asteroid at any moment."
I chose Ninja on the pure basis that they live by a completely different code that allows them to take cheap shots without fretting over 'honor'. Not to say that I don't admire the whole honor thing. But the ninja has the one-up on the samurai in that arena.

So in the meantime, I'll concede with all my pro-ninja points.
