I dont know if many of you play obliv but chances are if you have then you probly have played it a good deal. Personally i think its a awesome game and you can have so many new experence with it just by simply resarting with a new charcter. Wow i got way of topic but anyway there is a new obliv exspansion called SHIVERING ISLES and its suposed to add complete new areas and up to 100 more hours of game play including a 30 hour main questline and many other none main quests as well. And form what ive seen it looks well pretty weird considering the quest and new area is in the oblivion plains of maddness (if you dont plain oblivion plains are the place where all the bad shit goes down and the great items fall, it also plays a very large impat in the main q line and has many none quest places as well). Its set to come out sometime this spring so i just thought some of you would like to know. By the way you can exspect this version of obivion to get weird...very weird.. i seen a mazine article and well i wont spoil it with screenshots but you will face some a the weirdest looking monster around and you ill even get to make your own! Oh and for those that dont know Bethasoft is the maker of Oblivion and all elderscrolls games i think. Please respond to the Poll

i voted yes i think they could make sweet online games...They put soo much effort and detail into their single player games i would assume they would do the same ina onlie based game
Yes i am a hardcore oblivion/TES game fan and have over 200 hours into oblivion and am still haivng fun just screwing around. The new expansion looks sweet and i will be getting it for sure
Well if Bethasoft made Obvlivion (not familiar with anything other then Microsoft and Blizzard) then yes I think they have good potential to make MMORPG's.

Not too sure, there's a big transition between an MMORPG and a heavy single-player game. Mak no mistake, Oblivion is extremely detailed, visually appealing and deep, but neither of these properties are necessary for a successful MMORPG.
The only thing that would be directly beneficial is the replayability. That is a must have for an MMORPG.
PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.
Supporting big shoulderpads and flashy armor since 2004.

thats the exact same thing i was thinking about. Oblivion is one awesome single-player game without any multiplayer mode. I dont think Bethesda ever made a game with multiplayer mode and theres the difficulty of it all. Balance between solo/group questing - killing, interest for the most hardcore players on the long run - and more or less we're the ones that keep those games alive.

Oblivion is one of the most boring games I ever played, but I suppose that is normal for MMO's, so why not?
ur um ok well u keep hating and ill keep playin and we will keep it at that so we dont get into some heated discussion. I just....no i wont just dont get nasty ok and i wont either.
Well back to other things how many of you think that oblivion will keap going on and on like a more exspansions or do u guys think that it will soon be (within the next 2 years) replaced by another elder scrolls game?
Every MMO I played, Lineage II, Everquest 1, Guild Wars, and Sphere were all terribly boring... Oblivion is also boring because it is repetative, and autolevel destroyed it totaly. It overal reminds me of a MMO. Morrowind was a lot better. It, at least, had the right to be called an RPG...
Unless you are all playing with mods like normal people. But that's not Oblivion anymore, that's TES Construction Set.
To D-Day: I don't start heated discussions, I provoke them. Just ignore me, and there will be no discussion, I haven't got much to discuss anyway.
Noooooo... damit dude idk about obliv its just nice to have a debate someone we need to debate fihgt argue serioly the forums are losing flair we need a good fight...hell if you dont agree we can fight over this post...seriously we need something new to do.
Um....Obliv would not be obliv with guns.....
O and if you want more info go to http://www.elderscrolls.com they now have a link on there homepage to get more info.
oblivion has so many stupid gameplay bugs etc, (not a bad game dont get me wrong) but i dont think bethesda would be able to handle an online version of oblivion. It would be buggy, and laggy, and not good in general. just my thoughts tho

Also, despite purchasing a number of Bethesda software titles, I pretty much think their stuff is crap.
Hahah!
Oblivion definately is boring. It scares the crap out of me that they are making Fallout 3. (Fallout 2 = one of my favourite games )
