today is the 5th year annivarsary of the sept 11th terrorist attacks....This event touched soo many americans in soo many ways myself being one of them. Hell i can barley remember what i had for lunch last friday let alone anything that happened to me 2 weeks ago but i remember sept 11th like it was yesterday and i know it wont soon be forgotten
Just post where u were when u first heard the news and ur first thoughts/reactions
I was lying in bed asleep when my mother came in and told me a plane had crahsed into the wtc..she turned on my tv and we were both watching the news. Everyone thought it was just an accident and that the plane had malfuntioned and was flying to low to fast to pull up. i remember seeing people literally jumping from the upper floors of the crash to escape the buring flames
i mean can u imagine being burnt so bad and all that heat around u that u would choose to jump out of a window to ur most certain death just to escape the burning inferno? seeing that changed my whole aspect on this so called accident . I went to school about 20 min late that day (oops) but no one minded as when i walked into my first class everyones eyes were glued on the tv news again. We sat all class watching the news and actually saw live footage of the 2nd plane hit. When the 2nd plane hit i immeadiatly knew this so called accident was much much more then that and it was def a planned attack againt us. The rest of the day was spent glued to the tv as my footballs practices were cancelled and everything else.
I look up to everyone on that 3rd plane who took controll and crashed to plane to save more innocent lives. They are heros to us all. had i heard the news that 2 other planes had been hijacked and crashed i know 100% i would have done the same thing. Given my life to save others. 9/11/2001 a day that no one should forget . a day of courage, bravery, hope and the USA at one of its weakest points pulling together to become stronger then ever.
that day/ week was an emotional rollercoaster for me as i was angered/pissed off...also somewhat scared to as what might happen next. All in all it made me a stronger person as of now i dont feel so bad for all off our troops oversees puttin the smack down on the terrorist
thanks 4 reading guys please feel free to post ur feelings and wat u were doing that day
i would be very interested in seeing someones response who lived over on the east coast and see how it touched them as i am in california and am on the other side of the country
The sad part is that the damn people who did that said today they will do it again. I really hate these people, I mean if they had a problem with us fight us up front, face to face, don't hide and sneak attack innocent civilians who did nothing wrong but be born in this country :/...It really sucks.
i cant stand how they dress up like innocent women over their but when our troops go by they pull out guns and catch us off guard killing us without a chance. Like u said fight us face to face
I remember 9/11, I was in my class and my teacher came in with a blank look on his face. He sat down and put his hands on his head and said, "Omg what have they done." All the kids were like what is wrong, but he remained silent. He slowly walked over to the TV and turned it onto the news channel revealing what had happened. A little while later we saw the second plane crash into the tower. He then stated, " Who ever did this has awaken a giant sleeping beast and will get these guys and do them justice!"
I remember the day. I was in first period English with the crabbiest teacher ever. Within five minutes of the class, the principal walked in and whispered her something. After he walked out of the room quietly and shut the door, the teacher told us that the one of the World Trade Center towers had been "bombed".
My reaction was "Oh my God, who is behind this attack?" I had a feeling that it was Islamic extremists, but I wasn't sure. I kept thinking of possibly Russia or China, either of which I knew would probably end in total war. Either way, we talked about it for the rest of the class period, and after class was over, I had Social Studies.
We usually did Current Event notes in class, and the class was packed with people watching the live footage in New York. I got to watch the other plane come in and strike the next tower. After I learned that it wasn't truly "bombed", I felt compelled to watch it the majority of the day, despite my schedule. Everyone seemed to do the same anyhow.
Then I learned the Pentagon was struck. I was extremely confused. I couldn't understand how three planes could be hijacked and ran into three important buildings, let alone the Pentagon! I began to wonder how many other planes they might have control of, and what the other targets might be. Then I watched the World Trade Center towers collapse and felt sickened. I knew right there that something had to be done to prevent other attacks.
The next day was spent watching the news as well, and the teachers tried to help us understand things we weren't sure of. We weren't 100% sure who committed the attacks. We weren't sure who all died. We weren't sure how the country would react. All we knew was that it sucked ass. People were leaving the room crying constantly, and I even felt like throwing up when I watched people jump from the highest floors of the World Trade Centers.
Anyways, I wish all the victims' families and friends of 9/11 to keep those people in your heart and to never forget them, and I wish them the best even during the worst of times.
I also want to thank our troops overseas for defending our country from more heartless attacks like those committed five years ago.
well i remember that i was hurrying up because i woke up late for school. as i passed the tv in the living room i saw the towers on fire but thought they were just playing movie scenes or something. i got to school and found that every teacher had the news on and we spent the whole day following the story and talking about it. the school i went to was worth crap, people just talked instead of paying attention. i was pissed off at them and mixed in emotions towards the World Trade Center.
this morning i put on my rotc uniform and we performed a flag ceremony. i am a command cheif so i had to be there along with the fact that im a senior. we payed proper respects to those lost in the attacks, and all day our teachers have been discussing why it was important.
we saw a video of some firefighters that were there, real life footage of that day. one fire-fighter had a brother that was a fire-fighter too. they had split up and gone into the building, trying to get to the 80th floor and put out the fire. when the towers collapsed he thought of his brother. it turns out that they met up at the department and joined. since i have a brother one and a half year younger than me i really got emotional. i dont know what i would do without my bro no matter how much i complain about him.
thank you all for hearing my story. im pretty sure you can all relate to someone's story out there.
my feelings have been organized now. i reserve rage and lust for the blood of every terrorist out there. if it where me i would turn the wild desert into a glass parking lot. blades would gleam in the light from the sun and moon in a never ending quest to rid our world of this scum.
i dont care what their rationality they use. there is now reason why you would attack another country with that magnitude unless you want war. this is the best country ever and because of weak leftists (sorry to bring politics in here but they do screw up everything) we still have to struggle to secure our safety.

you are right acidreign. our soldiers are doing a super job. our military is the strongest in the world but this is not a regular war. our enemy relies on taking advantage of our mercy, our compassion. for those of you against the war shame on you. we are trying to free a people from an oppressive government and you want to take that from them?? how selfish is that??
once again thanks for reading what i have to say. disagree with me?? im glad either way. our troops are off in distant lands in order for us all to have the right to disagree and speak freely.
well said...carloseus
basicly if u disagree with the war, its the soldiers over there that are allowing u to have an opinion and disagree...so all in all by disagreeing u are agreeing lol
you all owe it to them to support them. not to "bring them back home" as some say, but to honor their contribution and let them know that what they are doing is good. we dont want another vietnam.
remember the towers collapsing, all those people lost. some burned alive, some threw themselves out of windows. WHY??? so that we can forget them and say we can solve it all with hugs and kisses?? NO!!! this enemy is out to make us extinct. they dont want land, money, or resources. they want to see us all dead. how do you convince someone to stop if he's already wiring himself up with explosives??
remember those who fought for this country and its principles. the revolution, the civil war, the world wars. remember that they fought, gave their lives for our freedoms and the hopes that we would become better. the foundations of democracy is what they fought for. freedom they protected from injustices. why throw it all away?? socialism will bring us down. we cant negotiate with wackos and blundering fools.
democracy will spread throughout the land. our president deserves much more credit than he is given. he handled the attacks on our soil with resolve and an iron fist. he told it how it was: a war against terrorism. he plants the seeds of democracy in iraq in hopes that the people of iran will want it too and revolt against their oppressive government.
sorry for addressing this so forwardly but this is something i feel really strongly about.
well said ferret. i dont agree with everything but he has done a good job. i am also a patriot for my country. movies i always break when watching are:
the patriot by mel gibson (when he holds his oldest son's head as he dies),
braveheart (Freedom!!!!),
lord of the rings (all of them have the same theme that you must fight for freedom)
saving private ryan (when tom hanks character is dying and says "earn this. earn all of this" and when ryan asks his wife if he's a good man)
everytime i see these movies i cant help but feel a sense of appreciation. braveheart, saving private ryan, and the patriot never fail to bring tears to my eyes.
take some time this week to see any of them if you can. they are great movies and send powerful messages to us.
i remember when this first happened i was in math class with the most sad-sack lazy bunch of fuckers i've ever met in my whole life but when we found out what had happened from the tv the teacher turned on we started a fuckin riot and tore up the school tryin to get out cause we wanted to bring some justice to this shit and go out and help the people up in new york but anyway we just need to go and fuck the whole damn place none of them want us there anymore anyways so lets just bomb the whole place and have that reveange
we will never forget you 9/11

You can tell the same lie a thousand times but it never gets any more true so close your eyes once more and once more believe that they all still believe in you......

3rd period study hall we watched as the 2nd tower was struck and at that point we knew it was no accident.. durring lunch we had heard that a plane had crashed in Shanksville about 10 miles from my house

If you ever meet a hafling and a hungry dragon you dont have to outrun the dragon, you only have to outrun the hafling.
what everyone needs to realize is that invading other countries, bombing them for oil, blowing refugee caravans and hospitals is the same crime like that. In all cases it is most likely to get innocent people loose their lives.
all the people responsible for such a massacre deserve the same punishment. Only the ones that dont really matter are hunted, though. There's only one world power atm, and it appears like the biggest terrorist around. I could talk about that for hours. Whats needed for a real dialogue are people willing to listen. Especially people in the US dont know much about that. About who trained the man who organized what happened and for what reason. There's big political play behind all this that most people dont really know about. Dont condemn someone before u think about it more clearly. (By this i dont mean it wasnt a real crime ofc - i mean there's more than u all think of.)
PS.
NO country, no matter how much power (mainly in weapons) it has has no right to invade/bomb any other country. That's invasion and the people of that country have the right to defend themselves with any way they can. The one attacking is the invader. Pearl Harbor and 9/11 were the only times the US were under attack. There are countless occasions where the US were the attackers and the list is growing... if i was from one of the countries terrorized by it? i'd most likely swear revenge just the way u guys did... And i'd have all the right too... So before going in a rage to attack every other nation around try to think about what u do to others.
