Well of course we know consoles suck. I've even decided to just drop consoles and go only with the computer. lol. But consoles are always there to give entertainment without using up any space on your computer! So as of now the only console or portable that I will be getting soon is the Nintendo DS Lite, Ps3 (when it comes down in price), and a PsP (also when it comes down in price; maybe when new model comes out).

think of the possibility's on ps3. xbox 360 discs can hold what 3.2 gb? and blue ray discs can hold 29 gb. think of all the possibilitys for npcs live enviornments, imagine a city were every 1 can talk move do things, i mean oblivion is like that and its only how big? its gona be mind blowing you just wait.
Oblivion was 10x better on PC, and the 360 is already having a hard time keeping up. It will be the same with the PS3 6 months after it comes out it will be out dated compared with a computer. Don't waste your money consoles aren't worth it. In the end your console is just a computer that can only play certian games, and wow a DVD; what a joke...
lol if microsoft was a genius then their xbox 360 should be better than the Ps3. Oh and microsoft is now making a hand held.. their goal is to hurt iPod with it. lol what's up with that?

personally, I think consoles are for children and pot heads who can't figure out how to turn on a computer. I stopped playing consoles at the age of 16. CastleVania for nintendo, doom and tekken for playstation, diablo1,2 and the expansion, soldier of fortune 2 and quake 3 arena for pc.
If you wanna talk predicted sales figures, Wii will kill Microsoft and Sony. That's because it's cheap (hurts Sony), has the most anticipated games, and doesn't have a high risk of electrical fires (That's you, Xbox 360!)
Personally, I want the PS3 and the Wii. But I will have to get the Wii first since I don't have 600 dollars for a PS3.
Sales analysts have been saying that PS3 will do the worst because of it's price. Even worse than Xbox 360, which makes me want to cut myself...like those emo bitches.
halo3 wont b on ps3, its made by bungie, bungie was bought buy microsoft, xbox is made by microsoft.
wii just plain sucks, its weak
ps3, costs a lot and has nothing to back up the price $500 and $600 is a lot for a console with nothing
xbox 360 doesnt melt disks overheat or any of that stuff, i have 1 and every1 else i no that has 1 doesnt have any problems with it

Actually i think that the wii will be a sleeper imo. I think it will rank right up there with the other consols but becuase of nintendos other attempts at a console system ppl wont give it a shot.
This is hilarious, you dickheads are actually buying these consoles the minute they come out?! The idea is to let the price go down and then buy the console. The whole reason the PS3 is so expensive is because they can get away with it. If people didn't pay $600 for it then they wouldn't sell it for that price. It all comes down to how much it is actually worth.
People pay 600 bucks because they think that the console is worth paying the 600 dollars and that they will get there moneys worth of play time out of it. The Xbox 360 on the other hand isn't worth the $400 or so dollars that it was released at because it wasn't kept in development long enough to get all of the bugs out of it. Microsoft are relying too much on the onlne capabilities to get it through the bugs, but that won't fix the hardware problems.
I think about it like this:
Microsoft has been around for years and is well known for producing the single most annoying program on the planet. It also works in conjunction with the machine which is known for having the largest amount of hardware problems on the planet.
Playstation on the other hand, although possessing less experience, came out with guns blazing and produced a great machine with very little (if any) faults. Then they brought out the ps2 and more recently the PSP. Both of which are still amazing machines.
Which would you prefer? Experience and a bed rep or skill and a good one?
the second one
id never pay that much for a consol... i barly forked out the 800 for my comp lol... ok nvm
the only fault i ever seen with any of my playstations was the one loading screen problem with the ps1 and twisted metal 3 i swear if you turned it on its side it loaded faster and the other way it stoped loading... other than that nothing

If you ever meet a hafling and a hungry dragon you dont have to outrun the dragon, you only have to outrun the hafling.

So you're saying that the success of the latest console should be judged by how well the previous console did? Yeah, that makes sense....except not.
Maestro, Sony has been around for a long time too. And they have more experience with hardware in particular. Microsoft is more powerful when it comes to functionality (ironically enough, considering how faulty the Xbox is, and how the Xbox 360 has the same problems), but then again, they oriented more around software and trying to screw people anyways.
Sony has been developing hardware for entertainment purposes for many years, although you are still right about Microsoft having more experience, Sony has better experience.

However i do agree with you about buying the system right away and how it's absolutely idiotic, but i do not agree with your assesement on them being able to afford to charge 600$ because the price of the 360 turned people off of the 360 and the extra cost for the hardrive( yes i know the launch games did too) but 600 for the 20 gb and 700 for the 60 gb is gonna turn away lots of people. The only launch game that I see for ps3 right now that grabs me is Assasin's creed and there was one other one but I forgot the name.
Yes Microsoft releases a lot of things with bugs and hardware problems but that one golden jewel that they manage to release usually stays with us for a long time. I agree that Sony has many more good games than Microsoft, but most of them aren't original(same goes with microsoft though). I would have to say that both Sony and Microsoft have some gems but Nintendo has some of the best gems out there today. Most of them originated from the N64 or SNES and this is the part where I give Nintendo credit.
I give props for Nintendo for being the starter of it all. You have to admit that basically every great game today is based on the games that Nintendo made. Although Nintendo is kind of going down because of Microsoft and Sony, I have a feeling that when the battle has died down between those two, Nintendo will come back with another great system.
Those are just my thoughts
