I would give Halo 3 a more accurate score, but I just played it for the first time last night and I only did one quick round of slayer...I got my ass kicked...royaly. Heh!

Get better, and you'll love it. I got my ass handed to me, but I learn quick and I still loved it. Halo 2 was really fun, 3 is even more fun.
I don't get it? HOW? The weapons in Halo, besides the Sword and Needler, don't change the game much at all. Nor do the characters, or story (for multiplayer). What I look for in games is unique gameplay, not just weapons but other things too, anything that calls for unique. And all Halo has is two unique weapons. So why do you (does everyone) think it's so good?

Every time you ask this question, usually at least one person does their best to answer it. And instead of actually considering what they have to say, you just kind of compartmentalize it so you can repeat the same question later. How many games do you play that even has unique gameplay? Give some examples of unique gameplay. What could Halo have done differently to make its gameplay more unique? And as I stated before, the weapons in Halo 3 don't claim to be that unique among other games. But each weapon in multiplayer does offer potential unique strategy opportunities depending on what kind of player you are.
You say the characters or story don't change the game, especially for multiplayer. What the hell do you expect? Multiplayer is supposed to be different than single player. Because multiplayer is about the competition. When I'm playing against other players on Xbox Live, I'm not complaining that there is no plot to my twelve minute slayer game.
And when you say the weapons in Halo besides the sword and the needler don't change the game at all, you just obviously haven't played it much to know the difference between the weapons. But I've already gone over this with you. Does it need to be written on a brick first and bludgeoned into your face for you to see my point? The last time I tried explaining these things to you, you either ignored it, or you denied my claims. If it was the former, then what I say now also won't make a difference. If it was the latter, then explain why you disagree with me.
Hating Halo 3 isn't a social movement either. So unless you've come up with your own reasons for hating the game that aren't just some generic things that most games share in common, stop dropping your line in this thread periodically to say, "I don't get it, I don't get it, I just don't get it."
Halo is revolutionary for a couple of reasons. For one, the game is well balanced and actually requires skill to be able to compete with the best, such as Starcraft. Halo also has a fun fighting style because of it's shield and shield regeneration. This makes it easier to stay alive when tactics are used and timing of grenade throws and attacks. Atlas Halo is revolutionary because of it's good and unique storyline.
I would give Halo 3 an 9/10 because there are still some glitches in the gameplay in campaign mode, and also the campaign was worse than the first two.

I dunno, probably not many. That's not the point though - I wouldn't give them 10/10, I don't HATE halo, its just that I don't see why it is so high scoring.

Gameplay that is unique I'm not going to waste my time trying to think of things, I got better things to do. Wasn't even the point.

True, along with most FPS games.

Yes I know but I think someone was complaining back there that Halo 3 multiplayer was boring because of a stupid story or something, not so sure.

All of them aren't the same for sure, but not UNIQUE either cept the sword and needler. Well probably not so much needler as the sword.

Hating Halo 3
Again, I don't HATE it. In fact, it's fun single-player co-op. I just don't see why people love the game SO damn much. IMHO.

Sigh. Okay, so you're saying you don't hate it. But you're even overestimating how people love the game SO damn much. I think what you're most upset about is the hype surrounding Halo. But hype is easily different than people's actual reasons for loving the game.
Play it and enjoy/don't enjoy it for your own reasons. If by then you've made the distinction between the hype and the reasons people love the game, and you're still confounded about it, then go to college and write a Master's thesis about it. Then we'll talk about this again.

Obviously you have enough time to isolate all his statements and respond to each accordingly. I'll wrap it up for you. Halo 3 DID revolutionize the FPS, and one way was making it so damn fun in multiplayer. Not only does it make multiplayer fun, it made it easy to go online and play with others.
People love Halo because of the story, and the character. I firmly believe that Master Cheif is the character to personify the gamer nation, because Halo united us, as well as made gaming more mainstream. It isn't just for kids anymore, or for the nerds. It's for people of all walks of life.
The weapons may not have been too different, most games have one or two new revolutionary weapons. Halo though is not carried in the weapons, but in the way we use them. The regeneration life bar added a whole new way to play the game, that you can constantly run into battle, get hit, and simply allow a couple of seconds to heal before going back out. It made more about strategy than outlasting your opponent. The weapons are the same, you throw grenades before running in, shooting your opponent down, and bashing them in the face.
The only reason you don't like Halo is because you have Gamer ADD. You can't really stay attented to a game for too long, I've seen you. You download games constantly, try them out, and then throw them away. The fact that you can't find good games isn't that they all stink, its that you're standards are WAY too high, and you don't know how good you kids have it. At your age I was more than content to play Super Mario 64, where as you would probably say, "these graphics suck" and go onto the next game you can.
There isn't anything else I can tell you to convince you, or to explain this any better. You really don't know how good you have it, and you take good stuff and take the old stuff for granted. Just like emo and punk rock fans. Oh well, I tried.
Ofcourse, please only vote if youve played it for a solid few hours. Im sick of people judging it based on what others tell them.
For me, its a 9/10. I would have given it 10 but it would seem a little expected and overated. I will admit it has a few tiny flaws, but they are minor in a game that is so epic and good in every aspect, including single and multiplayer, graphics, sound, gameplay and replayability.
I gave it a 9... its fun, but i think that there either was things that could be fixed... or its too addicting. either way, thats 2 flaws IMO

Yeah, I gotta take Sofa's side on this one. I got bored with the game and it is far from my favorite but it is still a great game. It has a unique environment, a great story line, fun/unique weapons, cool looking characters and customization for online play, and very interesting aliens and other creatures that take part in the story.
I beat Halo 1 and played Halo 2 a tiny bit. Halo 1 was a generic shooter, fun, but a generic shooter.
I haven't played Halo 3, but if it's anything like 1 or 2, then three is another mass produced generic shooter, with 90% of the online player-base being 12 year olds. But that's only if it's like 1 or 2, because like I said, I never played 3, or beat 2.
Yeah, the only thing I hate about the online is the stupid little kids that get on their and think they're good. I like Gears of War better. Everyone is usually high when they play that.
I liked halo 3 a lot. It is a great game, but it was just way too short.
I love the way they ended it, leaving it open for sequels. I really can't wait for the game halo wars. Now that blends my favorite genre, with a great story.
Yeah, Chief is dead. They'll make other games for the franchise but as far as MC is concerned.. Game over. And yes, Winston, the story is pretty cliche but at the same time, the way they did it didn't bother me. It had a classical feel to it.
