I did this today, and just finished after nearly 5 hours of work. I did this drawing for the RP game, in order to fully flesh out my character, Draitch.
This is a scene depicting Draitch, deep within an ancient tomb, finding the lamp containing the great Djinni Rajj Marid. Enjoy.
Thanks. I haven't used charcoal in about 2 years, so I think I fared well.
Oh, also, I added conte to his dagger, scythe blade, his eyes and the lamp in order to add a brightness to each of those. But now, the lamp basically doesn't read on camera because it is too bright. The unedited one is even worse, lol.
Well some of the colors that are there are due to where I took the picture. I had it laying flat on my bed, and I had the overhead light on, and a lamp angled towards it to produce the most pure white light source. But the other colors are from my window curtain. It is a really heavy, orange curtain, and if I have the curtain pulled completely shut when the sun comes in through the window in the afternoon the entire room turns blood red. It is the coolest thing. But I was trying to drown out the red with the other two lights.
Oohhh I like it. Its got good style. The left hand is a bit small and the face is a bit stretched, but otherwise its good. I can easily imagine it as some sort of cartoon animation. I do enjoy the blackness.
I thought that at first too, Ivaron, about the foot, but then I realised that the tiny 'foot' is actually his toes, and the joining 'leg' is actually his foot, and the real leg does go in the right direction towards his knee.
Nice job Archie - I like the hint of eyes in the genie smoke.

Great work. Looks especially nice as your avatar, which is good, you've made a nice composition. Did you draw out the 1 point perspective lines, or just wing it? Looks fairly good in either case. Anatomy is a bit wonky, but otherwise this is real good.

Thanks for all the comments. I know the anatomy is quite a bit sqewed. I haven't drawn a whole person that large before (paper is 26"x34"), and I don't have an eisel, so before I knew it, everything was all out of proportion. lol The thing that drives me crazy is how the upper left half of the body is larger than the right, and the right half of the lower body is larger than the left. Oh well. I'm fairly satisfied.
As for the floor, that was the very last thing I did to make up for some of the screwy body parts. And yeah, I wung it. err... winged it?

That is the only charcoal drawing I have seen on these forums and it's damn cool.
Although....
Please take the picture again with the red, I think that would make the picture just that much more diabloish.
Do it for me!!! haha

The necromancer's clothing looks a slight shade of turquoise/gray, though i dunno if it's just me, might be somethin' else
