Blizzard Not Worried About Duping on Consoles
Seems Blizzard is not worried for the duping that is easily achievable in D3's Console versions due to the lack of being online requirement. The philosophy here is that if a player enjoys the game, they'll keep on farming the honest and fair way.
I was wondering if we could get an update as to why this items are being allowed and what it's going to be done in the future about it. This is diablo3... Not 2. I didn't think this was going to happen again. I created a game and opened to public when some cool ppl joined and we started talking while smashing every demon we saw. He told me my gear sucked and game me an azure wrath with 3 sockets and some crazy dmg like 14k. I took it and started playing with it thinking that it was just an amazing item this dude wasn't using any more... Then he taught me how to dupe and showed me some crazy rare rings with close to 12 magical properties each. Right away I went to do some research and found out about modded items and duping and stuff. If I get my acc erase with my toons so be it... I dropped the sword last night before going to bed. You can have 12 trillion dmg and one shot everything... Then what? Game and the fun that I experience at the beginning of the game when it first came out for console goes out the window. I rather self find things and just play the game even if I have to struggle. Anyways! I hope a blue would at least update on the matter please... Very sad this is happening. Y'all have a good one.
In order to bring Diablo III to consoles, we knew significant changes were going to be necessary to make the game accessible to the widest possible console audience. One of those changes was the option to play offline on Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. A byproduct of this feature is that these save files don't require verification, which lets you jump straight into slaughtering the minions of Hell.
While exploring ways to discourage exploitative behavior is something we're continuing to do (so thank you for your reports), players appear to be enjoying their battles through Sanctuary and finding great loot along the way. Based on feedback we've received, we believe this experience has more value than simply copying another person's set of gear.
Josh Mosqueira Gathering Trading Feedback
While still unclear if it's some kind of a joke or if the info will be used by Blizzard in the future, D3's Game director Josh Mosqueira is gathering player opinions on Twitter regarding Trading.
"It is said that the cleric gave these crusaders a seemingly impossible task: to scour the far-flung lands to the east and find a means, however it might manifest, to purify the Zakarum faith."
It didn't take long after we announced Diablo III: Reaper of Souls for artists to try their hand at illustrating the Crusader, a mid-range melee fighter whose conviction (some say) is only rivaled by his prowess on the battlefield. So for this week's Artisan Showcase, we wanted to spotlight one such piece by István Dányi! Below is István's striking digital painting titled "Crusader - Unbreakable Warrior."
István has also illustrated other characters from Diablo lore, including Duriel, the Prince of Pain, who appeared in the second act of Diablo II:

Currently cannot play due to connection issue (again)
Let me do a tiny sarcastic rant: spot the difference.
First, Josh decided to remove the AH, then asks for feedback on trading.
But of course, it makes a lot of sense!!!
Sarcasm fail?
After the removal of the AH, they're thinking of other ways to support trading, just more meaningful as opposed to a soulless, anti-social AH solution. it makes total sense, indeed. Sorry if you can't see that.
Anti-social AH solution? Oh i'm sorry. I'm sure all the adults want to have to deal with the 12 y/o kids/scammers/basement dwellers who are rejoicing the changes so they can go back to d2 system.
Yes, you're the only grown-up playing the game, all the others are 12 year old kids, in a 17+ rated game. Sorry, forgot about that.
Here's some food for thought:
Who's saying they're going back to a D2 system?
All trades of high-end items are done outside of the AH already, anyways.
It's not like the AH got rid of all problems, scammers became AH flippers will become scammers.
Removing AH before having come up with a replacement? Clearly top dev material.
I've got some breaking news for you: The AH will be removed on March 18, 2014. Still five and a half months time to "come up with a replacement before removing the AH". Top dev material indeed.
Or.. EVEN better. Asking on twitter where you're limited to a few words? Twitter which barely anyone uses?Brilliant.
Yeah, 200 million users means "barely anyone uses Twitter". It's much better to asks on a forum visited by about a few thousand people a day, totally right.
Also, brevity is good. A good idea can be presented in a single sentence, it doesn't need a wall of text. Ever been to scientific conferences? Every student needs to be able to convey his research in a sentence ("elevator pitch"). We've had hundreds of suggestion threads comprising lots of text, 140 words for a change ain't that bad.

Right, because thinking about it before was too easy. Makes sense too
And if AH is anti-social, then trading chans are 100x times worse than that.
And after the Jay haters, we have the Josh haters! Wow, that was quite fast. To be honest, i wouldn't call that twitter "feedback"; it looks more like a little game than anything else.

I couldn't have said it any better.
Console play dead as a rock ... 3 weeks after launch, PC play useless since AH's are in linger state and why play before loot 2.0 ... and then, the man in the lead, starts a feedback on ... twitter about trading with ... ONE liners...
Really, I defended and enjoyed this game so much, but this guy single handedly killed console play AND PC fun within 2 weeks.
I'll give him his tweet: "D3 without a controlled in game central trading system is dead in 3 weeks time. No matter what Loot table you make."
Oops too long already.
Idiot.
Killed? They removed the AH MOST LIKELY because the majority of the diablo 3 players already left the game due to the lackluster experience it provided compared to the other two of the franchise. I personally am glad they are going back to it's roots. I just recently bought the Diablo 3 console version despite what I've been warned about, and love playing it locally. I've yet to jump online because i'm not a fan of exploiters. Still, removing the AH is the best thing for this game.
If a huge chunk of the player-base wanted the AH, why would they remove it? I won't believe that it's because of "whining," considering how much data they gather from accounts, they probably did an analysis of accounts created / active accounts, monitored a trend, etc.
I wont even join this disscusion because it wont even matter. Retarded logic will never change and i will not get dragged down with you. Have fun on your ignorant rant. /tatibai..
Herm.
And on topic, what can they really do when they have offline mode? Nothing, nothing at all. Thats one of the reasons i didn't buy the console version. And the fact that the game is worse with just a roll and a different loot table wouldn't change the core problem for me. But whatever. If those guys enjoy playing with those items like some did in d2, let them. Or rather, can't do much about it. Must take away offline mode to make that happend and introduce a ninja ladder.
Bagstone, just IGNORE him lol!
Perhaps the same options on diablo 2, I know there was some exploitation/duping on closed b.net, but the countermeasures resulted in a drastic difference in the number of cheats vs open battle.net. Or maybe they can't do anything, just food for thought.
Anti-social AH solution? Oh i'm sorry. I'm sure all the adults want to have to deal with the 12 y/o kids/scammers/basement dwellers who are rejoicing the changes so they can go back to d2 system. It does make total sense, indeed.
So 0-4 year olds were playing D2 and scamming people? You do know the bulk of people who played D2 are now in their 20's to 30’s and likely don't live in their parents basement anymore... just saying.
And yeah thanks for mentioning top items are already being traded outside of the RMAH, (i totally did not know that). Point is he AH was a safe environment that allowed you to actually play the game, sell your stuff while playing the game and also buy stuff really fast without wasting time with the majority of the game's playerbase who does fall into the category i mentioned earlier. Which i and many other intelligent folk don't want to deal with directly.
2) How am i the 12 y/o or basement dweller when i actually used the AH for what purpose it actually had? Which is selling and buying fast so i don't have to waste my time trading and i can continue to enjoy the actual game?
Only people who will benefit from this change are indeed the scammers/and people with too much time on their hands.
But it's good to see which side of the fence you're on. Sucks for me i got a job and a life i guess.
Saying shit like this leads me to believe you didn’t play D2 or if you did it was past its prime. In theory the AH was a good idea to combat issues from D2; however since it was linked to loot drops it turned the entire system into a steaming pile of mud butt shit.
Hardly anyone used 3rd party sites and trading in D2 wasn’t necessary (self-found gear was possible). Trade only existed to obtain perfect items or for people who like to haggle. I think I traded maybe a handful of times to get rid of excess uniques sitting in my stash.
Since you’re the pay to win type you’ll just have to do it with 3rd party sites oh noes!!!
You're not as bright as you like to think, let's just leave it at that.
Yah you just bring a whole big bag of awesome to this place. I feel that humanity has been blessed with your contributions, we are not worthy.
Back to topic… I find it funny the amount of rage that has happened from an offline mode, and then again I guess a lot of people never experienced D2 for what it was.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Playing Diablo since 97. I know nothing and having nothing good to say, I be a troll.
still don't get why there is no ladder system... the rollback and starting from scratch was the only thing that got me back to d2 like every year for a few weeks to months until it get boring again because you were overgeared and had to throw away practically 99,99% you found... AH has nothing to do with that. was a great feature actually.

The people with crap gear fail at trading and most likely failed in d2 as well (if they even played it). They're just upset others are better than them at this aspect so they want it removed.
[...]
I also love the rest of the replies talking about inflation and whatnot without any clue about how economy works in this game. You'll still be mediocre even after the AH removal. Difference is, the ones who will p2w will be at a way higher level than you without the legit and simple trading market that was the AH. You'll still be crying rivers of tears of how that guy has godly gear and you're stuck in brimstones.
You do realize there are people with different mindsets, do you? You seem to be so concerned about taking the high ground that you forget about all the people who never traded in D2 because they were happy with being mediocre. If you don't trade, you don't even know if you're mediocre, or have crap gear, or BiS items. You can't be upset about others if you don't care about others.

Yes because that’s so terrible… possibly the main reason for inflation.

I think no matter what Blizzard does, some people will always complain. Not necessarily the same folks, though.
There is an upcoming ladder system. :/

I know I should listen to Xpire and ignore you but I just can't. In fact, I wrote up my opinion why I think the removal of the AH is the best move Blizzard could've made ever, but it seems people like you can't be arsed to read that much text - understandably. Oh and btw, here are some reasons why DFans users are happy about the AH removal. Look beyond your nose and at least try to understand others before you judge them.
