assuming it is released before Diablo 4, will make it into a legendary game.
There won't be a Diablo 4, why won't you kiddies understand this? D2 was out for over a decade before getting a Sequel. I think Diablo 3 will follow in the example of WoW/SC, they will keep releasing expansions for it and a true "sequel" will never come.
Seems like I'm the only one not liking the 'reduced incoming damage' part.
I agree, what is the point in reducing incoming damage? Isn't this game getting easy enough? I've been running through Act 2 and Act 3 pretty much unscathed lately.
They're upping base survivability, but reducing defensive abilities effectiveness. I think it is a good idea.
Allows for more freedom in builds, and might make some classes actually viable *cough* DH *cough*.
I think by "some assembly required" it's gonna be a recipe similar to the Staff of Herding (Pony Level.)

It was a joke. I am well aware of how long D2 was out, and how long it will be until D4 comes out if they ever decide to make it. I'm also very much aware of the fact that Blizzard has stated many times that they view the story of D3 as the conclusion of a trilogy started by the original game, so are very uncertain if there will ever be more games in the franchise.
By the way, I'm 30. Certainly not the oldest here, but old enough to be mildly insulted at being referred to as one of "you kiddies."

We are all kiddies when it comes to Internet communication.
Wait, so does this mean 1.0.5 will not be the pvp patch?
You would think with 2440 posts you would know the answer to that lol
How is that exactly related? I got 2400 posts because i joined back in 08/09 and i visit the forums a few times a week. Am i to blame because i wasnt that heavy into d3 news lately and thought i read something about the pvp patch coming sooner rather than later? Why is the number of my posts supposed to make me a d3 know it all? lol... If we go by this logic, then Siaynoq is a god around here xD
Can't wait for this patch now sounds really interesting Just hope finding ubers isn't too dificult

Well have to say im a bit worried about this part too. They have already made the game pretty easy.. and now they're going to reduce incoming damage. Hope this doesnt make the game way too easy.. =/
To me, Diablo is about blasting through tons of monsters for better loot. Not really about it being some massive hurdle in order to do it. I am all for the game allowing people to quickly kill and move onto the next wave of baddies. Plus, there is going to be the added flip side of this reduction in the way of the Monster Power and new Infernal machine. Thankfully both parties can be pleased
I'm not sure if I trust the statement that rewards will be great for defeating uber bosses unless of course they have a guaranteed legendary/set drop. Otherwise pfft.
I'm starting to believe Diablo needs to offer something that is personalized in order to appeal more to people. Something that can't be offered on any of the Auction Houses. Not necessarily BoP loot, but also not completely vanity-like.
"While the rewards for defeating these bosses will be great, some assembly is required."
I really hope this is real, I DO really hope the rewards won't be like: (buffed with) 5 stacks of NV with 250% MF = 20+ items lvl 63 worse than any single item lvl 59.
Seems like I'm the only one not liking the 'reduced incoming damage' part.
I was thinking the same thing going through the first page. I think the surprise of the uber modes distracted people (which is really awesome news).
I think reducing the damage again (it's already at a good point, imo) will make the game a bit lame. After the last series of nerfs... damage isn't very high as is.

it can be harder, fine... change of scenery is nice
Oh yeah... I dont know why but i remember reading somewhere that pvp will be in 0.5. Anyway my bad. This patch looks sick though!

I just hope they address Monk's Spirit issues.
Off Topic: I just found out that David Brevik graduated from the same college I did
