Gives me a vibe of having to do with character development?
Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm yes. While most people think this is the armory, they already previewed the Armory and said it was coming soon. This would be the same thing with less detail and more secretive. To me this seems like this is something they have not announced yet. I could be wrong of course but I'm not simply assuming it's the armory either. Doesn't make sense. Yet Blizzard does confuse me sometimes.
Could Blizzard please stop trying to drum up hype for this game. All that led to in the first place was widespread dissapointment and drop offs in player numbers. I know they put a lot of work into this, and I'm sure that they're proud of it to some extent, but this community is tired of fluff and pomp, we want some meat and potatoes, (in the form of patches to gameplay, itemization, and class diversity) not more superfluous, extraneous crap that has nothing to do with the laundry list of valid issues we have brought up.
I want more than anything to love this game, obsess over it, and waste all my free time in it, but every time i boot up that login screen now, i feel like blizzard just spit on my face and said "this wasn't about making a sequel to your favorite childhood game, this wasn't about making the greatest arpg of all time, this was about lining our pockets with gold and securing activision/blizzard's place as the king of the propaganda machine and the leading spin doctor in the game industry."
my two cents before i dissapear like the rest of the playerbase.
While this is definitely a nice addition, they sure are taking their time in releasing patches. 1.04 probably got pushed back with the improved legendaries, though adding "on-hit" effects isn't going to change the fact that a shit dps weapon is a shit dps weapon(not even mentioning the random bullshit stat rolls you're surely gonna get on it)
The loot system itself needs to be completely overhauled where Legendaries and Set items have a specified stat range and they can leave RNG to go ape shit with the Rares. Kinda like how it was in Diablo 2. Of course they will never do that, as having their player base curse them every time an unidentified item drops is far more favorable than actually letting them have fun and feel rewarded.
Oh well, somethings better than nothing and imho the D3 armory looks way better than the WoW one.
