Kinda agree waddelz, I'll say this for Blizzard. Ive bought every game they have made since Warcraft 2 (minus WoW, live in South Africa, wont pay foreign exchange rate for laggy euro server connections).
So glad to see d2 making a comeback, proving that it truely is the best game ever made.
Makes me so proud to have played in the open stress test
really.... this i kinda gay news for me i just got some money from working hard construction and really wanted to buy this .. dam im stupied should of went on the day i got my pay check ... w.e good to see blizzard makeing some money they can invest in D3 ... i live in Toronto so i hope theres some random store that still has a copy if not ill just buy it from Blizzard.com or w.e you can download it
awesome news. I got my LoD cd key but i cant find my D2 original CD key so i cant play on bnet :(:( if anyone wants to pm me with original D2 cd key we could make a deal or something.
great news!, i have a copy and started playing HC on uswest in light of the announcement.. had to then buy the battlechest for the misses to play too
as forme, ive always been off and on with d2, i keep iso's of the disks so when i cant find mine i burn a copy/mount iso (managed to lose the install disk...replaced w/ burned copy now) and i have over 100 personal keys in a text file, so im always ready for a new install/ban
<plug>
btw, just FYI, i sell/trade CD keys/CD iso files of D2/ mail copies (burned) of D2, get ahold of me via PM for details
i had for old comp and it died and well... the cd went with it... then i got a diff comp then it ruined my disk... fucker.... then i recently went and bought a laptop and same day i bought diablo battle chest so yea... 3x purchase... blizz has gotten their money out of me.
I'm one of those sales v.v....after seeing Diablo III I figured I should re-polish my old skills. It is also the third time I've bought it over the course of my life.
Man I have to go at my moms cellar to find that d2 box I remember it had that strategy guide based on 1.00 and single player. Holy Fire was pretty good aura according to that
If I were to play the old games again, I think I would probably only do singleplayer at this point. I don't want to bother making "leet" characters online only to discard them when I start Diablo 3 (assuming that it will be released within a year).
Hellfire is easily available on the more shifty peer to peer sites, but I would not recommened torrenting this title for the following reasons:
1. Blizzard is a cool enough company that makes cool games and deserve our support.
2. Blizzard watches torrent sites and unless you know how to hide they complain to your ISP that you have pirated a title of theirs. A buddy I know got a warning from Comcast that he had torrented Starcraft. He was a dumb*$$ and should have just bought the thing as it was in a bin for like $9 at We-Will-Destroy-You-Puny-Indy-Retailer-Mart.
3. Hellfire sucks and is not worth stealing much less buying.
The moral of all this is that torrenting should only be used to rip of Metallica songs even if you don't like Metallica as Lars Ulrich is a fool who is pissed that he is going bald so he takes out his frustration of having a small package out on his fans. Oh and never outsource Diablo work, even something as small as a little add-on pack. Although the guy in the cow constume was funny.
But Blizzard is a sweet company who has yet to let us down and deserve all our support!
Can you even buy a legit copy of Hellfire anymore? I had borrowed a friends CD back in the day and that's why I know what it was like, but I have not seen the thing for sale in years.
lmao,
yeah i didnt know sierra made hellfire... actually it makes alot of sense now... although... i cant really play diablo without it, (praises to be able to run in town)
just an update, i had a change of heart, im in melbourne, AU couldnt bloody find this battlechest anywhere aswell. hopefully theres one near an eb at my place.
Does anyone know why blizzard can't sell hellfire in their Battle chest, I know another company made it for them and that I guess is why it is so rare(cost about 20 dollars or something used) But why couldn't blizzard get permission to reproduce it? I never had the chance to play it and it would be cool to someday.
Sorry if this was a repeated comment, I didn't read all of the prior comments.

-Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's First Law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only, truth.
I also Thought it has sold more copies than the number that is listed. However it is still good either way.
And with battlechests and collector's editions being reissued, this can only mean good things.

I saw this thing at a Gamestop in Dickson near me. I had never seen it before that. Just the Battlechest.
Sadly I was there to buy a guitar/microphone for Rock Band or I would've bought it as well. I'll probably make a special trip back there to see if it's still there. ^^
Bought the Battle Chest a couple months ago, still have the original games as well, Basically wanted a copy of the original Diablo , plus the guide for reference without having to skip around the net for the most part besides updated stuff from patches, plus it never hurts to have extra copies of d2 and lod. Good to see renewed interest in the series as a whole.
