The beams do look a bit ridiculous now. I don't know. Its just a random ball of energy that spawns with a rotating lazer... which just feels weird. I like the "it feels unorganic" comment, its kind of how it feels to me.
I always love their excuses for small things, like picking up items. Maybe, just maybe, the flaw is that everything is worth picking up now? No, lets ignore that. A player shouldn't even -want- to pick everything up. It doesn't matter if you have to click everything manually or you have a special button that does it for you. I don't think Torchlight had one (or I never used it) and I still vacuumed everything, and it still felt bad.
You want them to add useless items that you don't want to pick up just so they can justify not adding a more convenient item pickup system..?

...what?
No?
The breaking point here is you can instantly sell or turn into resources absolutely everything you find. That makes absolutely every item technically worth the trouble of picking them up.

Uhm, yes.
And that is a flaw why?
I didn't really get what you meant so I was wondering
I don't mind the change if it's needed, i hope the damage from the beams stacks. Also it could look a bit better if it was still hydra just rotating their heads, or some sort of pillars coming out of the ground that rotates... along those lines.
Blizzard seems to have forgotten that they plan on gold being very meaningful in this game (heck, it will have a real cash equivalent). Everyone who wants to make more real money or simply have that precious gold will loot EVERYTHING. They are too stuck on D2 where the incentive was to skip everything you didn't want. Now everything is useful.

BTW, the spinning lasers look totally out of place. I'm on board for a nerfed Arcane Hydra.
