PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.
Supporting big shoulderpads and flashy armor since 2004.
You could always download an iso of the game and use your legit cd-key. Works and it's not illegal by any means. Mount it on Daemon Tools and you're ready to go. (The site you download it will probably be illegal, thus i'm not linking, but do some searching and you'll find an iso. Make sure you scan it for viruses before using).
Yeah, mounting is a good idea. How much work would it be to update it to 1.12?

The mod works with 1.10 so it's impossible to do it that way :|
I think D2Loader would accomplish the no-cd thing. And from what I understand D2 Loader isn't a crack, but it allows you to play without the cd...
Hell Unleashed is not incompatible with 1.11 and 1.12, due to the fact that specific plugins used by D2Mod Systems that the mod requires were never updated by their creators to function with versions beyond 1.10... This is the difficulty with Diablo 2 modding; you're pretty much limited to whatever version the mod was created under. Hell Unleashed would have to drop numerous features if it was updated to 1.12 because a number of the dll plugins simply wouldn't work; there were also a number of other issues. Short story, 1.10 is the most flexible version for modding.
Hey ok so I did download and iso of it and put it onto Daemon Tools, but what exactly do I need to do then? (unfamiliar with it). I did try making a SCSI virtual drive but still doesn't work.
Edit: Did the whole mounting thing; each of the parts (install disc/play disc) seems to work fine - except the LoD disc for some reason when I specifically open that up its main options aren't even there, and when I try to actually play it still says the disc isn't there anyhow. Ugh!
Final update: I decided to try that D2 Loader thing, and whereas 2 hours of dling those iso files where the one thing that mattered didn't work, the D2 Loader worked perfectly after taking 1 second to dl haha. So now I can play and everything! But...only SP. The Multiplayer dl's for the mod still dont work =P
Edit: lol, after sifting through the forums, found another link to the multi player and that worked! (The one of the main page still doesn't for some reason, however. GL and thanks!)
I would love to try this. But all im getting is internet explorer cannot display this webpage when I go to download it. anyone else having this problem?
If you're looking for the multiplayer version the links on the site are slightly outdated atm. The single player version is available on the site. The multiplayer version you can download here...

I updated the links on the main site; a recent client updated had them temporarily invalidated... Other then the official forums, the official site and the moddb.com page I can't vouch for any links as they would be unofficial sources.
The official website overall is currently under construction and most of the other sections are offline. I was planning on putting up an entirely new official site when Torchlight 2 is released.

You're going to Mod for TL2? Did you do anything for TL1?

I played around with the map editor somewhat; I didn't work on any public mods due to the single player limitations of the game. But given that TL2 will have a improved wold editor with endless modding capability + multiplayer and even official support for private servers; I'm pretty excited about it and it holds a lot of appeal for me... You can read about my tentative project here... http://forum.arimyth.com/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=2881
As much as I would be interested in modding Diablo 3 and develop a Hell Unleashed II in essence; that's really up to Blizzard... the lack of any kind of official modding support, no change in their private server policy, no multiplayer outside of battle.net, and no way of incorporating user created content into battle.net really makes the idea and interest in a project of that magnitude far less appealing. I'd rather look to a more flexible game then continue to be at odds with Blizzard's policy and face the same obstacles I had to deal with while modding D2; if not more so.
