It's finally nearly upon us. In only two short months, the end of this October, Blizzcon 2010 will once again draw pilgrims far and wide to the gates of the Anaheim convention center. Stated as Diablo's year by Bashiok and others, we intend on making these coming months exciting and full of all that wonderful hype we've come to know and love (and often be disappointed by in years past when nothing Diablo-related came up, but let's forget all that).
I can say that this Blizzcon, in terms of Diablo news, will be the biggest one that we've ever had.
So get ready for Blizzcon 2010! Keep up-to-date with the latest Diablo news, speculation, discussion, and information here on DiabloFans, as well as some nice surprises we have up our sleeves in the coming weeks.
I almost forgot! Thanks goes to Tsukiyomi for this tidbit!
i am extemely excited for blizzcon and all the diablo 3 news that will be coming out. Hopefully they give us a release date >.<. I would really like to know when this game will becoming out because we all have been following the production of this game for so long.
I would also like to thank all the hard working people at diablofans for making this the best website on the internet. You guys always give me something to look forward to when i get off of work and i really appreciate that a lot. So i salute you all for you valiant efforts of awesomeness.
I guess it must be difficult for them to pen in an actual release date if they keep reiterating all of the features every so often. I think that I may have heard somewhere that they are mostly finished with act 1 (though that may have been my own fevered imagining)
In regards to Blizzcon I really can't wait, hopefully I'll have a job by then so I can pay to view it on the net. Is it held over a weekend?
Don't get yout hopes high though.:( In 2009 they were really forced to say something about Starcraft for everyone expected the game to be released in late '09 and Mike Morhaime had promised a summer beta for that year, which finally didn't happen.
Ah, but they did say 2010 at the last Blizzcon didn't they. And prior to that, people had only hoped for a 2009, but no confirmation had actually been given, am I right?

That was in one of the videos recently from Gamescom, so that's right. In fact, it seems as if all acts are pretty much done in terms of design, now they just need to fill them and balance them. At least that's how I interpeted it.
PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.
Supporting big shoulderpads and flashy armor since 2004.

Awesome! I knew this years Blizzcon was going to be ours, with SC2 out and Cataclysm on the way all that they have left to talk about is Diablo...besides the new franchise they are working on. I'm expecting a release timeline (ie summer/fall 2011), fifth class and a ton of new info.
I sent this for many days ago to news reporter but nothing came up about it but now..
There could be a number of reasons for this:
1. If you did not send it directly to me, the News Manager, it might have been neglected because our awesome writers have been very busy with articles over the last few weeks and their own projects until Blizzcon.
2. If you did send it to me: I have two part-time jobs and I'm a full-time college student.
3. Like Phrozen said, we have a lot of things that would obviously take priority over this, so it might have been put on the side-burner and then forgotten.
As for the Blizzcon, I'm thinking the last class, a new act, and a new gameplay video, as well as more on the questing system.
I highly doubt a release date, I would love to see the last character class though although I fear if it isn't a sword/shield type character it will not feel the same but then again I love the idea of the Monk so who knows I'm sure they no more about balancing then I ever would I trust they will surprise us enough on october 22-23 cheers folks.
Oh god... why did I have to read this while at school? That Blizzard quote got me so amped up I accidentally blurted out a weird sound of excitement, kind of like a chirping bird makes. It turned heads. So embarrassing But I wouldn't have it any other way!
I'm going to leave now and continue to express my joy with my face in a pillow.
The fifth class and it's standard release video(s) is a given. We may see a few other official videos demonstrating in-game systems and features, such as PvP, trading, talisman, etcetera. Maybe a new snip-it of some cinematic footage? But I feel like I'm being hopeful there.
My main hope is that the feeling of openness about the games information that was conveyed in Gamescon is carried over to Blizzcon. An example of this is how Jay in the interviews talked far more confidently and openly about the game than in years past, and with the inevitable release of new information coming soon we can hope that the information we receive will be rich in detail. Along with the more open presentation perhaps talk about the beta and release dates won't be shot down as it always has been with previous Blizzcons and other events and some solid information might be garnered. By this I mean of course that the beta will be "soon" and the release will be in 2011. One can hope.

"Today a young man on acid realized that all matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration. That we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively. There is no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we are the imagination of ourselves. Here's Tom with the weather."
My guess?? Open or Closed Betas, if this is true they will also come with the missing acts and class. Only a guess, but i put my hope on it, cause its logic for it to have 9-12 months of beta testing, cause starcraft II had 6 months(maybe i am wrong, dont remember) and for role games i think its harder testing and bug fixing.
I'd completely forgotten about PvP. They've given us next to nothing on that yet, and I think I remember them hinting about stuff coming up for it soon. I concur with you. Maybe they'll even have it ready for the demo.

Questionable logic aside though, I'm definitely think we'll have a 2011 release as well.
