Ever try and play the bowazon in hell difficulty? Ever try and play her without trading weapons with your friends? If you did then you know that diablo 2s hell difficulty was horribly unfair and horribly unbalanced.
Im not interested in playing a game that is 99.9% impossible.
Doesn't have to be 99.9% impossible, just a bit more difficult.
Diablo 2's Hell difficulty was somewhat easy, depending on what character gear you had. For elite gear, the game was to easy. For even some spell casters, the game was to easy because of the immense damage done per spell cast.
And the Bowazon was just a waste of time to be honest, really all it was good for was Normal and Nightmare difficulties, sometimes PVP. It's not the difficulties problem, it was the lack of damage and defense for the bowazon

"From the smallest necessity to the highest religious abstraction, from the wheel to the skyscraper, everything we are and everything we have comes from one attribute of man - the function of his reasoning mind." ~ Ayn Rand
I think what would make most sense would be to follow in the footsteps of D2 and make a game that can be completed with "reletive" ease on normal, but has options for harder levels of difficulty for people who want it. I dont think that just becuase some people want a harder difficulty level means the whole game has to be like that.
Also Blizzard has to market the game to a fairly wide audiance if they are to make a substantial profit. This means that they have to satisfy the fan base (us) and the person who buys the game in the shop because he likes the look of the logo. The sign of a good game is one that appeals to the wider "casual" gamer but still contains depth and quality (like D2).
As long as the game is difficult on Hell, I'll be satisfied.
Normal is meant to be normal, introduces people to the game, and prepares players for the other difficulties.
Nightmare is like the midline between Normal and Hell, it's where you shoud be challenged, and thus able to become much better at the game to help you cope with Hell.
Hell, should basically be Hell to complete ^^.
Been advocating for this mod for a while now, but again, can't help but say it.
Eastern Sun got it right.
Hell was really hard to complete, not impossible, but it actually required you to develop better skills as a player and use some form of tactics instead of spamming the same skill over and over again.

"One in every 10 million people can potentially have a headache from this pill." God forbid she is the 0.000000001% of having a headache.
i thinkit would be good if they added on another very small act for something like in heaven an angel has gone corrupt and you have to go kill him i duno but like a extra bonus for defeating it on hell but obviously the act would be 99%impossible
I think this is a pretty good idea.
Maybe not an act, but a large side quest that's insanely hard, for very expeirenced players.
Kinda like Uber Trist back in D2.
Would allow those who want an extra challenge a place to test themselves, and would give everyone else something to work towards beating.

The problem with D2 was that in order for enemies to be "harder" they simply had insane amounts of health and did insane amounts of damage.
There's got to be a way to balance this. Obviously more enemies of the same health won't do jack, because of area of effect spells or abilities, and as we saw in D2, the same number enemies of higher health and higher damage could be dealt with by individual skills.
So, make them smarter, and tougher. The melee monsters blocking ranged and casters seems to be a good solution, but i'm sure there's others

"One does not simply rock into Mordor."
"There's no I in Team America!"
As long as the D3 Team find balance in the enemies that spawn that would be great.

but it should still be possible to complete by yourself
and yes there were enemies in hell diff that were immune to fire lightning and cold rendering a sorc totally useless
thats the kind of stuff thats bad
i think high resistances are nice but not total immunities
unless its gonna be more like d1 in terms of skills then its fine lol
the game should be balanced around a damage point so no build like the bowazon becomes totally useless =3
what d2 lacks is any kind of damage scale for the spells
like a 1 - 100 scale
i think a 1 - 200 damage scale through every difficulty is fine =3
if the numbers get too high then it becomes impossible to beat the game without the best equipment
which is what i liked about d1
you could beat the game without the best equipment on all 3 difficulties
and it had a damage scale from 1 - 100
thats what i hope D3 becomes =3
Be my Buddy =^.^=
