AWESOME! Jay Wilson is a genious! I agree with him with a lot of thing's, and he answer and explain the questions so well, it's just awesome. I'm waiting for blizzcon to get more info, damn i can't wait!
PS: that's so great that they care about fans feedback. That's very reasonable.
I Agree! actually some of the questions just got me shocked, on some of them i thought they just saw my post's and just payed attention and refered to it, of course it's not specific related to me i guess, but it's still awesome to see how much they care about the fans and how they actually think about changing the game contant and stuff for because of fan's reaction and so.. it's amazing.
It sounds like they really listen to fan feedback. They are obviously very defensive about the stylized art style and the health orbs, so that will most likely stay the same - but other things that are easier to change, they certainly listen to our concerns.
first. Diablo 3 should have been at the top of the blizzcast. why are they talking about it second in the broadcast doesn't make any sense. Diablo 3 is the newest title, it requires the most marketing after a ten year absence.
especially considering it will be the big topic at blizzcon.
why it's being downplayed is probably because they've hit a creativity issue. i'm certain they will work through it, but Diablo 2 set the bar VERY high.
nope, they didnt start the podcast with D3 for the same reason tv shows always show the best things last, because if they show the best things first, people will tune out after they see what they want to see.
I don't mean to rip on Bashiok, I can imagine how stressful it is to interview, but come on... Show some enthusiasm. That being said, he did ask the right questions.
I like that they are spending a lot of time on act I because that's really what brings the player into the game.
I also like that they are sticking to four acts like in D2, it really shows how they want to stick to the structure that made D2 quests progress like they did.
I really want gold to be worth something in D3, it makes trading easily accessible because like Jay said, if you have an item that you want to trade, but the item you are trading for is more valuable, you can "pad" your items value with gold.
I think it's awesome that they are progressing the character abilities with the monster abilities. It just makes sense to do it that way.
Sounds like the inventory will be a lot bigger and there will be a shared stash, that's definitely a ++
It also sounds like Jay is playing a lot of D2 at the moment, that's good from a development standpoint. To kind of remind himself of what diablo really was.
I'm not sure I like the new lighting better than the green lighting... It's all good though, they had to do something to shut the whiners up.
Carnage is good
"Make the tones get worse" I hope he means worse in a good way:P
Good stuff. I was actually hoping there would be more then four acts, just so we get to see alot more content, but its not a big deal. I didn't really mind the green lightning, I still thought it looked pretty good, however it does look somewhat better now . I LOVE that theres alot more inventory, and that there will be some type of stashing system. I hated going into trading games with only half of the things i wanted to trade on me, which especially sucked if I wanted something someone, but he did not want anything I had to show for it, but I ended up having what he did want on a mule. However, this probably wont happen now because there will be a currency, even though on the other hand, we can still barter. Reguardless, thats great. Jay is a really good speaker... I wonder what he has to say about the shoulderpads some people are complaining about. I don't mind them, but I am curious to see what his words on this are even though, atleast i think, its a minor issue.
Oh, and "somebody's going to lambast me for not getting the name right." -- I lol'ed
The gore of the corpse explosion (or at least that's what it looks like) is decent and I think lives up to Diablo II standards, but I hope they try even harder to get the gore right- maybe make a few bones here and there and some ripped cloth or something.
From the moment they announced D3, I never saw a single similarity between WoW and D3. But the new dungeon really does remind me of something that came out from WoW. I hope it's some experiment or something like that.
I'm all for gore but in my country we have this weird censoring system where an arm getting ripped off with an artery spraying blood at the camera will get you a potential "unclassifiable" category which is the same group as "adult" movies involving kids and animals.
So we can get HC adult movies here but not Fallout 3 - they had to release a special diluted F3 to pass the censors.
Blizzard would be aware of this but they could go a LOT further than anything I've seen in D2 so far. The graphic FX and sounds play into this too. Corpse Explosion in D2 was not sensationalised or gratuitous. It was the necessary "effect" for a body exploding. We didn't see entrails or blood spraying up at our isometric viewpoint camera.

If someone has problems with the font color, tell me and ill fix it.
No problem. My sunglasses are working just fine.

So we've got over the problem of colour in D3. Great. Now let's argue about everything else not yet set in stone and help make this game simply great! Game on.
Honestly, only from what we saw in the gameplay trailer:
I think they did a really good job with the inventory. I don't think the icons are too small (also notice that items that you actually wear get their icon resized to bigger) and if they will make them bigger... well I just fear there won't be enough room in the log to show everything... and then we'll have to mess around with bags... you know... changing bags and not being able to see the whole inventory at once, I find that annoying. If they make the icons bigger and just give you less room, it's fine, because it's challenging and you actually have to pick up only stuff that are worth picking up. Anyway, from the way it looks now... I think it's awesome. The only thing I can point out that is not so good is the upper layout of the inventory which includes a shiney colorful baggy I find it stupid ^^ but really, minor issue, good job Blizzard.
Such animosity... And here I figured people were actually starting to get along (Now that it seems that ShelledFade isn't stirring up trouble any longer)

good, shut the hell up now about diablo looking like WoW since you have no basis for your argument
the diablo team can only hope that their game obtains the feeling WoW gave everyone
