Diablo III Concept Art by Peter Lee and other artists can offer fans a view into the early stages of development for the classes and various locations of the world of Sanctuary. Here you have a few samples obtained at the Blizzard Worldwide Invitationals 2008 in Paris as an exclusive to fansites.
Among the concept art provided are the Barbarian and the Witch Doctor, Deckard Cain, and locations such as Caldeum, Tristram, and the Tristram Church. Other concept art can be found at the official Diablo 3 website here.
Diablo 3 is graphically and artistically great, there needs to be variety in the game, instead of only plain and dark areas!
+Wouldn't it be better and more interesting if from a sunny beautiful day, mist starts covering the screen, rain starts falling, thunders and lightning striking and it starts to darken, instead of constant dark!?
city artwork is awesome and so are the classes art, esp the barb

LEAP ATTACK!!!!! PLAGUE OF TOADS!!!!!
SLOW TIME!!!!!
look at those towns, if the towns are that in depth with so many levels of hieght and tiers, this game will truely be EPIC. it will take 5 minutes to get from one side of town to the other, imagine all the interaction with so many NPCs that could fill a place that big.
This artwork has far exceeded my expectations for D3 and I am blown away. D3 is gonna rock!

Since the beginning... I have existed
Peace is a lie. There is only Passion.
Through passion, I gain strength.
Through strength, I gain power.
Through power, I gain victory.
Through victory my chains are broken.
Amazing Artwork!
I hope they translate that into the gameplay
/Edit: Btw, the barbarian looks awesome too - no oversized shoulderpads here ...
Regards, Matt
you know what i was noticing about the game play as well as that concept art, the barb doesnt really have a chest plate, its more so that the pads cover from sholders about to lower stomach, maybe they are so big becuase that IS the plate armor. it has to cover all of him doesnt it? its the same in the gameplay. when he picks up the chest plate it just shows the sholder pads come on. anyway, its radical to the max
if they follow the concept art it looks like the bard wont have gloves either, it will have a more realistic armor feel and have the forearm protectors... anyone ever played silkroad, kinda like that.
okaaaaaaaay, nice wall of text there, too bad i dont have the patience to read...
Don't be disrespectful. If you're insecure about your reading capabilities, there are plenty of programs provided by your local educational services that can facilitate your learning.
Anyways AbIs, I read your post and I concur. The only thing we can hope for is that fans of the franchise can make a big enough stink about this early on, that the developers will decide to change the look of the game. Honestly, I think if they just went a few shades darker on everything, and added a little more grey, things would be fine. Thats for the enviroment. If they contrasted that with bright sinister mobs/bosses, that would supply the appropriate amount of color to the game. Feeling the fear or whatever gimic statement they used, is voiced in the majority by the visuals. Even if the music is amazing and the gameplay leaves me terrified, most of the input is coming from my eyes. Fix the graphics!

That made me lol. I agree somewhat with the graphic arguement taking place, but i'm also 99% sure that the twenty minutes of gameplay that we viewed was simply Act 1, and we're baseing the entire game off that small video. I'm sure further down the game the enviroment will become darker and satanic. The graphics are somewhat "fluffy" and WoWish, but when I see the before and after pictures, it looks like someone just turned off the lights pretty much. I don't want to play in the dark all the time. I think a very dark look throughout the game is not only going to make the ending seem the same, but it's going to be incredibly boring. Either way, comfy graphics or dark, we all will play it, even if we say we won't at the moment. Probably most of us will buy it the first day. As for me, i'll be in that 12:00 midnight line - Sadly. It's going to be an all around good game i'm sure, and blizzard has never let me down on Diablo, so why would they now? I'm sure they've heard the nagging of graphics by now anyways, and being that they've been making this for a few years now, I wonder if they'll even take what you're suggesting into consideration and modify to your liking. Not everyone has a problem with it after all. And I don't want to wait for a graphic remake of the whole game anyways!
I am sick and tired of reading the same crap about the graphics in every thread. I love the way D3 looks so far, and I think many of you seem to be forgetting that we are still completely unaware of 99% of the game in regards to dungeons and environments.
That being said I wish people would show some restraint before immediately jumping to conclusions about the graphics in Diablo3. I have been playing the Diablo series ever since it was released in 1996. I've played both D1 and D2 for years, and I believe that Blizzard will indeed keep the series "dark and foreboding."
Please just relax, take a deep breath and wait for some updates from blizzard.. If it turns out that hell is just Blizzards interpetation of "It's a small samll world" then we can start getting enraged.
has anyone ever considered the fact the blizzard may implament a day/nite scenario, like grand theft auto or warcraft 3 ( and dont say... OMG ITS WARCRAFT THREE THIS IS DIABLO...stfu ) play long enough and the bright rainbowy bridge turns dark and scary. its just a thought but i dont think anyone has taken this into considreation. of course it wouldnt effect the dungeon scenario but i personally didnt see anything wrong with dungeons. there were times in the game play when the barb would leap someone and there would be monsters i didnt see before he leaped there, maybe i have bad eyes but i think that reflects the Diablo 1 and 2 light radius missing issue. anyway whatever, im gonna buy it, im gonna love it, and im gonna throw my life away to it just like i did the previous games

I really love the artworks for D3 so far, especially New Tristram, glad they brought the infamous ravens back.
Oh and that church simply looks... Terrifying.

Maybe they have. Maybe we just haven't seen it yet.
I will admit that the first thing I thought when I saw the concept art on the site was "why doesn't the game look this awesome?"
They said they've been working on it for three years now in interviews
