I def. think there's something more then just Starcraft 2 pro comments and wotlk info. That just isn't enough content to warrant an entire event at this point. That and the fact that of all the countries/cities in this world, they chose Paris, France.
Ya.. So maybe blizzard wanted the slip ups, make them look accidental, to get the suspense up?
Supposedly France (or rather, Europe) is the area with the highest Diablo fanbase.
And I'm really not seeing why it would matter to Blizzard if they released an MMO soon or not, because even if WoW did lose a player base to the new MMO, Blizzard would still be getting the money in the end.
you guys think its about a 50/50 shot of D3 at WWI?
I think the next few days will be very telling. The closer to WWI without more info then the less I believe that D3 (or any game for that matter) will be announced.

Yeah, there hasn't been the official "product announcement" announcement. I have my doubts.
well whatever it is, i really want to see this "Next-gen MMO"
Me too, If I don't have to spend my entire life grinding I might just be able to get in to an MMO.

"The most tragic thing about religion is that evangelical people who have such a degree of blind faith, who do and believe terrible things because they are sold as the will of God. Unfortunately this is almost half of America and leads to such things as electing George Bush, twice..."
Haha whether the game is a MMO, a RPG Hack n Slash, even a god damn dress up game, I will buy it. Okay maybe not a dress up game, but my point is that MMOs are extremely fun, so are RPGs, and to be honest I'm not sure which I'd rather.. A MMO would have a nice open realistic feel to it, much like WoW. A RPG would have those fond memories of Diablo 2 in it (miss those days haha).
I guess the only thing that I'm not 100% happy about MMOs are, no matter what you have to play with the people that go way too far, spending more time on their MMO life than their real life. I am not and would never criticize these people, but its not fun to play with them really.. Their just too insanely built. What I liked about Diablo 2, is you could play with who you wanted, in private games, and when you needed to go public, you could.
That said.. Wow would not be the amazing game it is, if it were set up like that.
I sincerely hope it's not an MMO. While some months I may get my money's worth from a paid subscription, there are times when I only play once or twice a week for a few minutes ( especialy during hunting season ) The Diablo games can be played like that. A Countess run here, a Baal run there, so on and so forth. MMOs seem to be tailored more for gamers with a lot of free time, no offense.

There is a place on Earth for all God's creatures...... right next to the mashed potatoes and gravy...^_^
PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.
Supporting big shoulderpads and flashy armor since 2004.

Agreed. I once forgot to cancel my WoW subscription on time (1 day late) and paid for an additional month without playing at all. Actually, even when I did subscribe I barely played. It just isnt worth it for me. Now if they incorporate a pay per hour rate then I think thats a little manageable. Let the people playing the hell out of it and getting the most use from the patches/fixes pay the premium!! Then again, some would be out thousands per month...
Although I do not think I played very much when I played Wow... I would hate that idea of hourly paying. I remmeber some days (Days where I was ill or something) I would love to have almost a full day of just chilling playing WoW with some buddies. I like the care free aspect, once you have paid your subscription fee, your good. If I had to worry about managing out hours, that'd suck.

I would think 0.50c/Hour would be doable. Heck, 8 hours for 4 bucks?!
Nevermind me, my brain is just a little gasy today.

Blizzard know its PR camp very well. 50/50 good odd's.
