I still don't understand why people think this is a big hint. I wish Blizzard had just used a flat background so this kind of this crap wouldn't happen.
But that is why Blizz did it, just so this crap will happen. It is their way of playing mind games with us and its a nice way of keeping the forums buzzing and allowing fans to pass their time a whole lot quicker.

Just thought that I'd point out that that link is from 2005. Oh, and the last paragraph at the bottom makes me laugh (WoW on 360). I'd probably play it if it did come to 360... but Blizzard denied it, many times. Again, very old info.

i never stated it was a big hint. find one quote where i said it was a big hint.
i was just showing people where the backgrounds are from, since they all seem to think that the backgrounds are big clues. this way they see that its just a pic from others that blizzard has made. how can they make assumptions then?
As much as i love the diablo series.. i can't help but still think that for blizzard trying to create a Game (diablo3) against the original creator's game(hellgate) at the moment would be a bit dumb. I think a company thats as big as blizzard won't just blindly go ahead with projects without looking at their competitors. They would prolly wait until Hellgate is released then plan to make one even better..
I hate to burst anyone's bubble.. but can anyone please convince me otherwise.. thank you.. i too want a diablo 3!! but im too damn stuck with this idea right now.
i looked at the "hellgate:london" trailers, screenshots, in game... and it really doesn't do it for me... im not sure if any diablo fans are satisfied with how this game is shaping up to be, but i think it looks terrible, and has nothing to do with the diablo series whatsoever, and that attempting to link it to the diablo series would be a definate stretch, especially because there are guns now? futuristic glowing armor? 1st person shooter compatible? this is NOT diablo 3, and shouldn't even be considered a competitor, because likely it attracts a completely different crowd. from asking my friends and kids i know that play diablo 2, only 1/15 said he MIGHT buy hellgate because of his great respect for the "blizzard north" team. However, he himself said he wasn't impressed with the game, and was still hoping for a REAL diablo 3.
just for fun, how many of you are buying hellgate london?

If you find yourself wandering in green fields with the sun on your face, do not be troubled, for you are in Elysium and you are already dead! - Maximus Decimus Meridius
Mega Games posted a false claim [2] about a message alleged to be from ex-Blizzard employee Chris Hartgraves stated:
Blizzard will also use the BlizzCon event to introduce Diablo 3 to gamers and if the excitement of Blizzard employees is anything to go by, the game will be a big deal. According to a message sent to WoW Guru by former Blizzard employee Chris Hartgraves, Diablo 3 takes place in heaven. Hell is trying to take it over and it is AWESOME looking ... Imagine the brightness of heaven being taken over by the darkness of hell ... Imagine WoW but in a Diablo world in amount of size and playability ... Also, guild housing is available in this game for those of you who know about it. They should have a gameplay demo to show at BlizzCon. This was later shown to be a hoax, not from Hartgraves at all, and a misunderstanding founded upon the expansion for World of Warcraft, based on its name, The Burning Crusade. Many speculate that the expansion for World of Warcraft took the place of the announcement of Diablo 3 at the 2005 Blizzcon. Chris Hartgraves still holds true to his original statement and that he apparently saw Diablo 3 gameplay with his own eyes at a Blizzard employee function called "Show & Tell", where the different sections of Blizzard Ent. show the projects they have been working on. Chris Hartgraves states that BlizzCon is the new place that Blizzard will announce all the latest major news for their comapny instead of at E3 - Which would make sense since this year at E3 2006 Blizzard is only displaying their latest patch, instead of a major announcement. So look out at BlizCon 2006 this year. Also, it might be noted, that Blizzard North was completely relocated to Blizzard headquarters in Irvine, CA late in 2005 secretly.
diablo 2 still makes me happy inside, but hellgate doesnt even interest me. it never did, even before i found out that the diablo makers were the ones that worked on hellgate.
2005, and that post was heckled for it inaccuracies. I have been to Every Blizzcon and E3 for the past 6 years. I must have missed that viewing of the Diablo 3 demo. Maybe they got an insider insider insider view from Blizz North.

"Pking in Softcore, is like two deaf kids yelling at each other."
Let me say this about Hellgate London. I played it twice so far and it is in no way anything like Diablo. It is more like World Of Warcraft if anything...
Ok, secondly, the 19th letter in the Alphabet is S
Third, if you only use the bold phrases together you get this:
"Of the Tides of Darkness is the Dark Lord of Terror. And my stare alone will reduce you to ashes. Stay awhile and listen."
If you flip it around a bit... In this order, it is W, D, D, S,
"Of the Tides of Darkness is the Dark Lord of Terror. Stay awhile and listen, and my stare alone will reduce you to ashes."
*Note this. What if cain is evil in D3? The above sentence would make complete sense.
Me.
I think you are mixing up stuff.
First the game has nothing to do with Diablo, but it is from the hands from the team behind Diablo (some people) so i think it's gonna rock (doesnt mean D3 isnt gonna rock)
I dont think its gonna attract such a different crowd like you say, the game IS being made by the masters, how the hell can you turn something like that down?
And i do think its gonna be a hefty competition for Blizzard and it will put pressure on a D3 release, dont be fooled Blizzard is anticipating this (i hope so cause they dont want to lose a hefty chunk of there community to another developer, but they will if they dont release a D3 in the "near" future)
you don't think it will attract a more FPS//Shootemup crowd?
and MANY people are turning this down, i now have heard of 2 total people who are excited to see this game/gonna buy it, the most common response seems to be something to the effect of "they tried to bring in guns and .....london(present day-future) as opposed to staying true to their diablo background"(medeival warfare)
im sure there are many people that are excied for this game im not so sure it would be a "hefty chunk" of blizzards sales that would be lost if in fact another diablo came out

no i didnt say that. i was assuring everyone that there isnt much of a coincidence regarding the backgrounds.

I think Diablo 3 would be amazing.
I think SC2 wouldn't be very fresh and exciting, and probably wouldn't buy it.
just for fun, how many of you are buying hellgate london?

Actually, the people who made that ad had to publicly apologize for it as they put D3 in there by accident
