I find it irritating when companies change lore around, like "Oops, we made a boo-boo!"
What else are they suppose to do then? Go with imperfections that they didn't foresee earlier, or do something about it? Developing a solid story is hard, especially if you try to piece things together at a later stage, when originally you started with a game that lacked a solid story.
PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.
Supporting big shoulderpads and flashy armor since 2004.
I agree - Diablo 1 didn't have much of a solid story.. I mean it did, but it appears that it didn't - and to be honest, when Diablo 1 was released.. all it really was (if you didn't read the game manuals and such), was a Devil type creature under the town of Tristram, with his hordes of demons devestating everything, and now you have to go kill them all. =P

The first two had pretty good stories, if you actually stayed a while and listened to the NPC dialogs.
But most people just play the games for the multiplayer, despite it being made as a singleplayer, hack and slash action adventure game that just happens to have multiplayer mode.

Indeed, but the whole Inarius thing is annoying, are his follows overlords or not, D1 says they are, Sin War not so much, and Blizzard have stated the the Sin War books are the official lore. I havent finished the trilogy yet, but He better still get his wings and eye torn off and his skin flayed and thrown in a prison of mirrors, doomed for all eternity to stare upon his now hidious form, that was so brutal.

-Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's First Law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only, truth.

Yeah, I believe this time around, the game will be much into the storyline than the other Diablo games.. it's gonna be one hell of a ride!
