A rep from Blizzard just sent me notice that there would be no more announcements at BlizzCon tomorrow (Saturday), so for those of you (ie: all of you) who were hoping that this would be the day that Diablo 3 was finally confirmed, I'm sorry to inform you that you'll have to continue to wait. We all know that it's eventually coming, but the waiting for the official confirmation of the third game along with some idea of what it will be like is a really hard thing to wait for. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I figured it would be best to tell you about this now rather than have you guys waiting around all day Saturday hoping that we'd hear more about Diablo 3. Thanks for sticking with us though... Blizzard is listening to us and sooner or later (ok, later) Diablo 3 will become a reality.
In other Blizzard-related news, the rep just sent me word that our own Umaro participated in the first-ever Starcraft II tournament with Loc Teinh (from w3roc.com) on his team and won in the first round, but they were unfortunately defeated in round 2 by TeamLiquid. The overall winner of the tournament was TeamLiquid who were then given the opportunity to play Karune and Stephen Chang from the eSports team. TeamLiquid wasn't able to defeat them though. Unfortunately there's no replay video footage from this tournament, but maybe that will change later on.
More news as it becomes available.
Sad Diablo indeed. (thanks to Zabadak for sharing this image with us)
Actually Ive been waiting all this time for the interview session with blizzard associates.. I am on a completely different track than you people.. I wasn't hopeing for an announcement, and I never cared about Day I to begin with. (forseeing what has taken place today)
lol... I think its funny im the only one in this boat.
I disagree with your input.
"Why focus on getting a 50 dollar bill when its possible to get 100 ones"
I'd actually like to call out Stealthyfart for starters. I read through the entire "Codename Hydra" thread the other day, and - even though it was interesting for the most part - Stealthyfart really broke the first rule of someone who posts under the guise that they have information we'd all like to hear: he did not substantiate his arguments with fact.
To be even more blunt, he never actually came out and said what he knew more of than us. It may have been a case of pulling all our collective legs. But now he leaves an odd post in this thread telling Carloseus that if he has patience he will experience unbridled joy?
Another case of him allegedly knowing something we all do not.
It's one thing to be a game company and give one of your franchises consistent updates, while another branch withers under the weight of age and dashed hope.
It's another thing to actually dangle delicious treats in front of our faces and not come right out and say them.
I may very well feel somewhat ashamed of doing this if and when all of his "secrets" are revealed...but for now...I'd very much like to see what Stealthyfart is hiding.
(Also, and as a separate note, once BlizzCon is conceded and everyone has gone home, and there is still no D3 announcement for us, I'm going to pen an open letter to Blizzard, and will include some key quotes. If anyone would care to give their account of this whole mess or perhaps a good summation quote then just send me a PM and I'll get to work.)
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
It's time to welcome the other 80% of the color wheel to a Diablo game.
I look in the blizzcon schedule and whats that half in hour cut on August 4th, what the hell could that be they would at least have something going on during that half in hour they arent gunna have bored customers for a half in hour whats up anybody know what might be going on then?
Seems Diablo3.com Folks have word there won't be a Diablo announcement at BlizzCon today Saturday. Hopefully it does. Even if no announcement is made, we do know from Gamasutra a few weeks ago that Frank Pearce commented about Team 3.
And from Paul Sams, a year ago, he said there would be three unannounced projects to be revealed on 2007. I wouldn't keep my hopes down if I were you. I am disappointed if it is not announced at Blizzcon, but disappointment shouldn't bring down our hopes, and second shouldn't make us deaf to the two clues from Frank Pearce and Paul Sams.
Starcraft 2 was announced at South Korea.
World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King at BlizzCon.
That's just two games out of three. One still remains unannounced. And we are still four months away from 2008. There is still hope for a Diablo title.
We still have GenCon and Leipzig. Like the saying goes, it is not over till the fat lady sings!
Err, hopefully we can keep the fat lady stunlocked long enough ...
Oh, just for those who forgot about it, Paul Sams let the cat out of the bag concerning the three unannounced projects at the Leipzig Games Convention back on August 28, 2006. Hopefully, Leipzig will conclude full circle.
blizzplanet has a conclusion
so forget about blizzcon
it's not belong to diablo
And it seems no one asked about Diablo III either. No word at all. You'd figure with all the Blizzard reps there, someone would do some major gold digging. To be honest, this BlizzCon looked boring as hell, despite StarCraft II.

Way to fail reading!
From the article: he did say Blizzard "will have a major product announcement in 2007," and that Blizzard was currently working on at least three other unannounced titles at the moment.
He doesn't say "three products will be announced in 2007". He talks about one.
Edit:
Further to that I think SC2 was the MAJOR product announcement. WoW expansion would be a minor one. I imagine D3 would also be regarded as a major one, making it unlikely to be released (if it's even one of the titles they are currently working on) in 2007 going by what he has said.

you have reason, and i wish for the same. however, even though we know that diablo is top-dog, blizzard and the rest of the community doesnt think so. even the community is sad for us, because we have waited for so long without anything, no tourney's, no attention, no expansions. i feel defeated, but that wont stop me from standing right back up.

blizzplanet has a conclusion
so forget about blizzcon
it's not belong to diablo
And if it IS true, why not have a DiabloCon or some nonsense like that? Give Diablo his day in the sun as well!
Talk about only loving 2 of your 3 kids.

sorry it's blizzcon 2005!
Besides, most of the regulars (and plenty of others have well) have seen that "brightness of heaven being taken over by the darkness of hell" quote.
Oh well.

No one shall stand against our defiance and rigid faith in the face of hopelessness.
