GamingSteve.com has a small write up about Diablo 3 using some "inside" information. In short, they have been working on the game for many years. The concept of Heaven Vs Hell which oddly enough, was posted before in our story line forums.
What strikes me the most are the WOW comments, such as, "Blah blah blah, Blizzard will not release D3 because it will compete with WOW."
The fact of the matter is that WOW will experience competition this year no matter what, and Blizzard knows this-- they are not fools. If one thinks that other game developers are not, this very moment, racing to develop a game to tap into this multi-million dollar MMORPG market, you have been playing WOW far too much.
Sure, blizzard has a WOW expansion on its way, but that is nothing more than beating a dead horse. Diablo will be announced by Blizzard this year, but only if they do not want to give up their market share.
So you ask: “Then why are we seeing so many Diablo-related job postings, Blizzard must be behind… right?”
The answer is simple: No, wrong. You do know that all of those job opportunities are for artwork… right? Lets use an analogy to clarify this answer.
Pretend all of us here at diablo3.com want to build a brand new sports car. Should we (A) build the car’s chassis and engine first, then design some flashy artwork that works around the car’s superior design, or should we (B) design the artwork first, and then adapt the car’s engine and chassis around it?
If any of you choose (B), the odds are that you will build a car that cannot perform like a sports car, let alone like any car at all.

Because if the invisible guy the president believes in isn't the real invisible guy then the real invisible guy gets mad and no longer powers our economy with his invisible hand. Jesus, have you never even read anything about economics?

The article says that Diablo 3 will have some features inspired from WOW. It claims that the heaven v. hell setting is true, and there will be a type of alliance v. horde.
Keep in mind that the setting was paired up with earlier claims stating Diablo 3 would be announced at BlizzCon, but we all know how that turned out...
Is it just me, or does the alliance v. horde thing not sound anything like Diablo? It would be nice to see some characters with a dark side, but I don't want Diablo3 to revolve around PVP, it should just stay the way it is.
For Diablo3 to revolve around PVP, new goals will be set into action, such goals that have little or nothing to do with any story line. The economy of D3 will be split into two independent worlds, one of good v. one of evil, and while it does have some definite pluses, none of it is something unique; something that I have come to expect from Diablo 3.

According to Blizzard officials, they are denying the existence of the very thought of D3!

You fucking retarded ass sonofabitch! You seriously think you could cast a fireball at Gheed just because you were a n00b137 enough to gamble in the beginning of the game? Well i got a few words for you: NOT IN TOWN, MOUTHAFUCKA!

Blizzard is a master of the art of word play.
I would contend that it takes a high level of English understanding to interpret what those "officials" mean.
When they say, "We have not announced any Diablo 3 plans," it simply means, `My boss says I am not allowed to talk about Diablo 3, because our competitors may.... omg.... compete.`
They have said, on many occasions, "We plan to revisit Diablo Universe in the future," and although that does not explicitly mean Diablo 3, what else could it be?

Indeed, Blizzard has a very good way of changing words around so that, the thing they are talking about, isn't really what they are talking about LoL

so ive decided i dont care how long it takes blizz to release d3 ill be that 25 year old(19 now) callin in sick from work to play that shiz all day haha
I was always supporting the view that Diablo 3 shouldn't change its identity. By that i mean it shouldn't go MMORPG or change it into an FPS or something its not. I'd throw my PC out the window if that happened! Blizzard should, (provided they are working on D3) keep the general mechanics the same. In its genre, D2 and LOD are waaaaaaay ahead of the field. D3 should be just a continuation and a better, brighter (or darker) more action/skills/story/ anything else they wanna add than the previouse version, the same as D2 was better than and a continuation from D1.
Yea and time isn't really the issue for me as long as they get the game done right. No point in giving us a crappy version of D2 with no depth or anything if all they wanted to do was get it out right away, id rather wait till 2010 and get a proper, unique game that i'll always wanna waste my life away with lol.
Oh and the heaven vs hell thing does sound intreguing, wouldn't mind fighting on Diablo's side either.
Imagine the uproar if they did rush it though? Imagine what would happen if they put out a cruddy game with a D3 title slapped on the front? I dunno about u but i'd be pissed off big time!
*Calm down...* I'm glad they r taking their time on D3 so we can waste our little lives away with something worthwhile.
Well, I'd expect nothing less than top 1!!! All the other Diablo games have been top 1. So, I doubt it would be anywhere lower than that when it comes out.
