What does IGN know that we don’t? Take a look at this IGN advertisement which clearly has Diablo 3 listed as a game. I really don’t want to be negative (hey, I’m the co-webmaster of a site dedicated to a game that hasn’t been announced for years!) but IGN is probably just trying to people to come back and read their E3 coverage.

Looks like someone from IGN left a comment on a blog about the advertisement and had this to say.
"Meh, don't get your hopes up. Looks like someone in our creative department just made an unfortunate choice on what titles to put on the ad"

If you ever meet a hafling and a hungry dragon you dont have to outrun the dragon, you only have to outrun the hafling.
As about ten people have mailed in to point out, there's a new IGN Insider banner ad, with a bunch of game names scrolling past. And sure enough, Diablo 3 is one of them. With E3 coming up soon and hope springing eternal in the hearts of men, there has been understandable speculation that perhaps this is a hint that we'll be seeing D3 at E3.
Personally, I think it's unlikely. I don't think D3 is going to be shown at E3, and I don't think the inclusion of it on the IGN banner means anything. Official announcement or not, everyone assumes Blizzard's been working on Diablo III for some time, and IGN knows people are interested in the title. It's called advertising for a reason -- they threw up every game name they thought anyone would care about since they want you guys to give them money to read info you could get elsewhere for free.
On the other hand, as Swift pointed out in an email:
"What makes this more interesting, is that every other game on that list is either confirmed to be at E3, or has been confirmed to be in production. Diablo 3 is the only game, person or company on that list that is yet to be confirmed. This could be nothing, but it could also be a little slip before an announcement.
On top of that, Blizzard has so far only confirmed the WoW expansion for E3 this year, and I find the likelyhood of Blizzard only showing 1 single game at their booth over E3 to be next to none."
I haven't paid much attention to Blizzard's booth plans, but aren't they showing Daikatana I mean Starcraft: Ghost? Again?
If, by some miracle they are showing D3 and E3, we'll be happy, since Rush and I are both going to be there; he for Loadedinc and WoW, me for Hellgate:London and other general interests.

they might have changed that cause of Blizzard change of plans. Almost everyone believed they'd announce 1 if not both the still unannounced games they're making in the E3. Maybe they thought it wouldnt be good for the promotion of the WoW expansion to do so. First sell as much from it as possible, then make the market go boom with games like Diablo 3 and Starcraft 2 (everyone thinks of those 2 when they hear "2 unannounced games" ^^)
most likely they'll announce it at blizzcon this year.. unless they wana surprise us and announce it tomorrow! (yeah right)
