I was looking at the to-do-list and saw adding a recipe list to the blacksmith and jeweler still needs to be done but I have a few questions about it.
When listing the recipe what all does the table need for each entry?
If its just the name I think i can set it up.
If it needs other information give an example/list of the columns that would be displayed if you can
If it needs to auto pull information from other pages which? the actual item info or the actual recipe info..
I'm not sure how auto pulling works
I have no idea how to customize the item list template to work with or display the things that would be needed
Keep in mind I can't create new pages for like 2 more days
How in-depth does the the categorization of the recipes need to go?
armor, weapons
type of armor, type of weapon
level the recipe can be crafted
Adept, Apprentice, ect.
gem type(color), and lvl of quality of gems (ex. chipped or flawed)
Are all of the recipes for the blacksmith and jeweler added.. from a glance it looks as if recipes for the gems are missing is that due to the game still being beta and not enough information out?
Those are all the questions I have at the moment.. thanks for any response... from anyone of any skill/knowledge level.

Yes it's pulled automatically from the Data namespace, but the templates handle all of that automatically. You should use [wiki]Template:Item List[/wiki] when listing items. Follow the syntax on that page.
In order for data pages to be able to be displayed as lists, they need to have been formatted for it. After checking it appears that formulas are currently ready for this, while plans are not. So the blacksmith lists will have to wait a little bit until we can get ApocBot to update them.

I don't quite understand how the question relates to the lists. Can you elaborate?

All recipes and formulas should have their own pages already in the wiki, for instance [wiki]Formula: Enhance 2H Weapon - Superior Oracle[/wiki], and the categorization on these pages has already been taken care of.

For example on the Mystic's page the formulas are just being pulled in up in a list that displays a name and a description of the formula..
On the above topic; does the current list need to be edited to use the item list template as currently it uses a custom made list "dftable" layout.
The list is further broken up in to sections like 1hand, 2hand, and etc.
The question I was posing was either
How in depth does it need to be for the blacksmith plans or the jewelers gem recipes
If depth is not that much of an issue then in what manner of catagorizing the groups should be utilized.
example being recipe 1 requires the blacksmith lvl to be 4 and recipe 2 requires a blacksmith lvl of 1.... these two recipes would be categorized into two separate sub-categories with a title above each.

Oh now I see what you're talking about. I was confused when you used the word categorization: in the wiki that word is used to refer to the method by which pages are automatically grouped and sorted (see Help:Categorization).
As for how to handle that specifically, I don't know. You could experiment and see what makes sense, and then we can iterate from there if needed. Try and see
ApocBot should also have updated the Mystic Recipes by now so it should be possible to incorporate them into the List Template.

Does it matter if the Recipe lists are added onto their own template like page and then pulled from the template onto the respective craftsman's page?
Three Templates:
"Template:Mystic Recipe List "
"Template:Blacksmith Recipe List"
"Template:Jeweler Recipe List "
On each, the list of the recipes are being pulled from their data pages into one big table/list
At that point the lists are then pulled from their respective templates to be displayed on their craftsman's page...
Only thing is I'm trying to think of a reason that it be good to have a list of all the recipes stored on their own page be it that of a Template or a normal page.

From a visual standpoint no, but it's easier for editors to see what is actually on a page if it isn't "templatized" so to speak. I suspect you ask because of the way Affix Lists are handled for the D2 part of the wiki. These two instances are quite similar to each other, and I don't think there'd be much difference which solution was used for D2.
However, I expect the D3 data will change considerably as the game is patched and played, probably several times, and the editing upkeep of these pages will be larger. That means priority should be given to making editing easy, and so I think adding the recipe lists directly to the page would be preferable.

I have my demo of the formula list up on my user page on the wiki... and wouldn't mind you (Phrozen) or someone else taking a look at it as I am sure I forgot something due to my inexperience with the item list template and using it with recipes.. you can leave a reply on my talk page or under this forum post.
Just realized something... Blizzards Diablo page has like 241 formulas... (40 1h weapon enchants the demo list has 16 of them...) and at the moment my list does not have all of them on it.. Should I start adding all of them to the list even if there isn't a data space for that formula?

You mean adding them to the page so there are tons of ugly red links everywhere? I'll say yes, but without it there's no way to tell what is actually missing from the wiki without scanning through all recipes, and that's not very helpful for anyone. You are of course free to add any of those recipes to the Data namespace directly, and it's quite a simple procedure. Just look at an already existing data page, copy the layout and replace the differing variables (which is mostly just the name and description it would seem).

Wave.. its been awhile. Yay school and soon to be FF XIII-2. I have the Blacksmith and Jeweler's plans writin up mostly I'd prob need to go through and check again for any errors and missing recipes in the list. Should it include even the ones that the craftsman already has (like the ones that don't come from a plan or design)
Does anyone know if there is a way that when you export or copy a portion of text out of excel (just one sheet) to make it to where it doesn't carry over the Tabbing due to the cells; if so it would make some thinks dealing with the code easier as having to go through and remove the tabs by hand sucks and excel lays out the wiki code so nice... plus the whole dragging and dropping code down multiple lines.

Are you trying to take raw data from the spreadsheet and drop it into the wiki edit box? If you find yourself doing too much editing after the paste, what I usually do is add the formatting (wiki markup or whatever) into the spreadsheet as a formula in an adjacent cell. Then you just copy that cell and drop it into the wiki...
.. I'm sorry but... huh? Your making a formula in an adjacent cell that takes all the other cells relevant (all the cells to the left) and basicaly 'adds' them together to put the entire line into one cell?... Idk how to get excel to add the strings into one cell if it is even possible... Ahh found it before I hit post it is the formula CONCATENATE(text1,text2,....)
If I wanted to say add missing recipes Data:Item/ Page is the item id# needed to fill in the Item Display? If so where the mess can I find that.
To auto pull Recipe information from their data page into a list format that only displays Recipe Relevant information which of the following actions would need to be done?
Creation: Template:Recipe Data:Recipe/{{1}} pages for the Recipes: pages that Apocbot added recently Data:Item/{{1}} pages for the new recipe: pages??? (no clue how this would tie in) Template:Recipe List
Modification or Editing of current pages: Template:Item List adding the attributes from the new recipe pages?
Note1: This is not using the Plan: or Design: items.. but using the new Recipe pages that also contain the materials it takes to make it and potentially other attributes.
Note2: It would be easy to make a table of all the current blacksmith items and even include their material cost similar to what was added to the jeweler page but it wouldn't auto pull.
I am not sure what you are asking. Are you wondering what templates and pages would have to be set up in order to condense all relevant information about an item into a list? So that one line could display not only the recipe cost but also item data about the final item?
It should be possible to do, but to combine the data of both the target item and the recipe page would require a new template.
Also note that the Recipe pages you are talking about are actually data pages that have ended up in the wrong namespace. Eventually we'll move them, but for now they work as they are.
So what would have to be done is create a list template for this, possibly modify one of the current ones instead. That's actually it, that should be ebough in order to create lists similar to what appear on item lists such as Belt List.

Yes. Those lists contain data and format that has been manually added to that page, rather than pulling the available data from the Data: namespace.
