I honestly think we won't be seeing the Paladin this time around. At first, I was sure we would, but after hearing Blizzard talk some and the direction D3 is taking.. no, no Paladin.
I agree. I'm not saying that there WON'T be a paladin, but I think that blizzard is minimizing tanking in more strategic gameplay. Thats great in my opinion. I have to say I more than satisfied with what they have said about the gameplay.
OK. Just a note to say again, please ditch the feathers on the witch doctor.
Since we can choose gender, let us choose skin color as well (not race as I don't want to get into an argument with someone who just has to be an elf).
I want to see the 3 remaining classes:
archer/druid
paladin/assassin
sorcerer
The tech tree - whatever it winds up looking like - would determine how much someone was paladin versus assassin, etc.
BTW - I don't think D3 will have a crusader... not a friendly name for the Islamic world and it appears that D3 has noticed it as the author of the stories is al-Hazir, a rather arab sounding name.
An alternative would of course be:
archer/assassin
sorcerer/druid
paladin
or
sorcerer fighter (like in Act 2 of LOD)
archer/druid
paladin/assassin
I would love it if D3 gave us a menu to choose the name (wizard/warlock/sorcerer/mage, etc.) that we call our character. Yes, different people would choose different names within the spell caster class and we wouldn't quite know if what the character was about (i.e. 2 mages could specialize in something completely different) but that's what already exists, right? We would just have more capacity to individualize our characters.
I still would rather have a pure defense class. Only makes sense. Barb specializes in combat why not have a Class that specializes in Defense?
Because that charcter would not make a good character in single player. I think the developers what people to play all of their characters in every incarnation of the game. Relying on hirelings to do all the dirty work is near impossible esp since they get negative bonuses versus bosses.
you can see that he loves to show some skin, and a tank is fully covered, besides a barbarian doesnt have defensive auras or holy spells (this is from pure memory i havent played D2 in 2 years)
Barb can easily wear fully covering armor if he wants to, and his shouts can be defensive too. Look at Battle Orders.

Ranger - Ranged Weapon Mastery (fire a bow or javelins like a machine gun!), Traps (MK style!), Pets (lions, tigers, and bears oh my!) - physical damage based
Demonologist - Bone Spells (Necro style!), Avatar (shapeshift into a demon!), Furies (evil spirits that hang around you, giving party bonuses) - mix of physical damage and magic
LEAP ATTACK!!!!! PLAGUE OF TOADS!!!!!
SLOW TIME!!!!!
I MUST BE ABLE TO INTERACT WITH NECROMANCER NPCS! They control a large part of Sanctuary's jungle too, apparently!
Also, same with the Zakarumite Paladin if we can't be them any more.

Blizzard is not responsible for the death and loss of your hardcore characters for any reason including Internet lag, bugs, Acts of God, your little sister, or any other reason whatsoever. Consult the End User License Agreement for more details. Blizzard will not, and does not have the capability to restore any deceased Hardcore characters. Don't even ask. La-la-la-la-la, we can't hear you..,
1) Paladin -- of course -- My choice for this is simple, the paladin is a Blizzard favorite, he is the sword and board, healing, dmg dealing hero.
2) Assassin -- D2:LoD introduced the assassin, but other then that, we dont really know much about them, however in the trailer the girl that everyone wants to know about, if I'm right then she is a female magi gifted with farsight and can see the upcoming events, Assassins are trained to watch these magis' to make sure none of them get corrupted. they will be the duel wielding "rogue class"
3) Hell"Hunter" (Hunters of Evil) -- Probably not the exact name they'd use, but I like it, this is the spear/polearm class, now that they are introducing summoned creatures with various skills, a class with a companion(pet) is needed, the hunter will be a individual who has seen the horrors first hand and wishes to protect as many people from the hellish ghouls with whatever means necessary, maybe even by converting a demon into his companion(pet).
3.2) Magi -- The spell caster, Wielding Staffs and scepters, this is probably the most desired class other then Assassin or Barb, and seeing as the story will more then likly revolve around the new demons attempting to corrupt the worlds magi, this is the most lilkly.
These of course are all in my head ad have no real proof to back anything up, I have thought long and hard on these, and I would very much like to see what everyone elses opinions on the three unnounced classes would be.
How badass would that be? Silently killing demons in the night... Muahaha...
But make them crazy, like linked combos and stuff, not just Hiya, then Finsher.
I am talkin Jet Li as a class!
It seems to me that Blizzard is trying to implement an even faster paced gameplay design. Combos and charges would probably slow down the gameplay. I know when I played as an assassin, she played so slow that I never really wanted to get past act 4.
Corsair (A Melee/Thief class)
Coming from the coasts, the Corsairs are a class with extreme agility and superb swordfighting skills. Coupled with their penchant for loot, gold and alcohol all they ask for is a fun time
and the opportunity to see the world.
Skill Trees
Sword Fighting
Gamble
Thievery
Basically the Corsairs are the pirates of the game with the rock and roll attitude. They are the primary melee class. Sword Fighting consists of the basic melee moves and combos. Gamble is a special skill tree wear the damage dealt is random and increases with luck. Thievery allows the Corsair to receive more unique and rare items and gives them the ability to steal.
I have a few others will post them later.
And ps. Am I the only one who doesn't like the idea of having male and female characters for a class? It kinda makes it feel more like world of warcraft or everquest and the sorts..
a priest class???? a healer? lol they're no healers in diablo... NO HEALERS!!!! Paladins are the holy warriors, because "priests" can't destroy the evil, priests create the paladins.
new class:
warrior
arabian thief: a master with the sword, the shadows and illusions. from arabian culture in Diablo (luth golein and other cities) very capable with melee techniques, dancing swords, etc. He knows about stealth. He is a treasure hunter, trained with the capacities of stealthing tombs ad facing the Evil. It's a replacement for assasin, but without traps.
skill tree:
Swordmandship
Illusion
Shadow
but bards??? BARDS??? do you want guitar hero crappy guy for D3???? don't fuck with us.
you want a ranger too (bow + pets + nature) Diablo 3 isn't dungeons and dragons!!! stop with that...
still i want a real summoner (i want golems!!!) and a good bow char (not amazon plz)

Skill tree:
Restoration/Destruction/Self Defence
Restoration is about healing and restoring
Destruction is about damaging spells
Self Defence could be about fighting teqnuices and such
I dont know if MONK would be a fitting name thou but i think it sounds ok
Necros seek balance of heavens and hell and don`t like to much influence from one or another.
Ranged and elemental spellcaster could be the others.
I don`t know about angels or that kind of things, we don`t see elfs, angels or other fantastic creatures on cities. Sounds a little sacred to me.
But a real dark class sounds interesting, now, with heaven and hell on earth, a corrupted class or something like that.
