Or, the space-time is fluctuating around him, creating atmoic votextes that force his matter to coalesce into 57 dimensions. Which creates the effect of him breathing, when in fact he is standing still.

Lately many people on different forums, and communities have been discussing the real agenda of Tyrael. Some believe he is an evil foe appearing like an Arch-Angel. Some say he is an arch-angel "gone bad". This topic and the questionmarks put upon Tyrael, if he is good or bad, kind of makes me sad.
The diablo storyline and lore is very intriguing to me, and Tyrael has to me been one of few things which really gives me the chills, and still does, when I think about the power which he possess, the character, and he's appearance. A more godly creature there is not.
I've been reading around, and what I've found is there is alot of threads which is searching for proof wether or not Tyrael is good or not, and most of them are threads for negating Tyrael.
I'm making this thread in the favour of Tyrael. I hope you can help me. Help me with finding all evidence of that Tyrael works for the light, the good, and the heavens, with no hidden agenda.
Here's my thoughts on some things I would call evidence in the favour of Tyrael.
* Tyrael entered Tal'Rashas tomb, and volenteerly guarding the tomb for all eternity.
* Tyrael is helping you throughout the game, destroying the prime evils, and their evil plans.
* Tyrael appears on the official diablo 3 site, as the opposite side of evil. On the other side there is some sort of demon.
I'll do some more research and trying to update the thread with more information, hope you guys here can help out, to clean Tyrael's name!:-)

If we are to defeat the flames of hell, it sure can't be done with fire..
Tyrael helps you in Diablo2 a lot giving advice and guarding the tomb of Tal-Rasha as said, he then proceeds to save the day by destroying the Worldstone, saving the day for the Hero's on Mount Arreat.
assuming that it was Tyrael at the worldstone
remember, Baal fooled the old man into giving him his soulstone
another demon could have done the same
Tyrael just sitting in the corner rezing mercs doesn't sound like good use for him though
I do not see any reason to assume information that is not there, like assuming that Tyrael was not actually in the Chamber. There's just no reason to think so. It would be like saying we never met Cain because there's magic out there that can deceive. I think it would be wise to simply assume exactly what the storyboard artists (story writers) told us- that Tyrael came in after the physical death of Baal, instructed you on his inability to predict the resultant corruption of the Worldstone, and his destroying of it thereof.
In the case of Baal masquerading as Tyrael in the epilogue cinematic, that was literally dished out to you by the story. They wanted you to know that. They showed it all to you on purpose. There is no reason to assume that of Tyrael in the Chamber because no information was given to assume so.
Yes, my point exactly. They made it obvious it wasn't him when the story follower (you) found out Marius thought it was supposed to be him (Tyrael) because he wasn't showing who he really was, which Tyrael, characteristically, never had an issue with, unless some other beings. It was dished out to you.
They never even hinted at any form of subterfuge in the closing cinematic of Act V. There's no reason to think there was any. To think so is just to impress more information that isn't actually there on a storyline already bloated with unresolved plot points, poor character development, and a plethora of other complications.
But the old man Marius was mad at the end having seen Mephisto and Diablo and all the demons and for holding onto the Soulstone for so long. I think he would have been easily deceived because why would Tyrael not appear in his true form? he does so every time you meet him in D2.
so Marius was affected by being with demons and having soulstones in his inventory but the heroes weren't?
hmmmm
also you assume blizzard wants a boring story of "Kill demons who want powah" and have no personal conflict
No fool!!!
We have a new generation of heroes this time round because all the heroes from D2 have gone mad with the demons they slew and fought in hell. Even Deckard Cain is feeling the madness slowly crawl upon him. Read Deckard Cains journal on the website for proof.
wow name calling, ok here we go scrub
YOU JUST SAID THE HEROES SAW TYRAEL IN THE WORLDSTONE AND IT WAS HIM BECAUSE YOU SAID SO
YET you also just said crazy man saw tyrael in the asylum when it was baal because he was affected
SO now you say heroes went crazy, but not crazy enough to assume the one at the worldstone was not Tyrael but Belial BUT crazy enough to be enemies in 3
No one saw Tyrael in the worldstone they were all fighting Baal's armies outside, And Marius was old and had already seen demons in diablo 1 and his mind was already slipping as you see in the first video of the acts. Then after Baal and his army were destroyed the heroes over a period of 20 years lost their minds making them no longer able to defend earth.
What's not to get?!
Anyway, logically, why would Baal wait to be killed before destroying the worldstone?? There is no reason whatsoever other than it was Tyrael (the real one) that entered the chamber and it was tyrael that destroyed the stone with his holy sword.
Besides, the worldstone being destroyed is better for the heavens than the worldstone being corrputed in favor of hell. Why would Belial act in favor of heaven?
The heroes did see Tyrael in the worldstone, BUT, they went mad AFTER that. We don't even know if they went mad anyway, they should appear in d3, but that's another topic.
Anyway, not all of them are unable to protect earth, the Barbarian came back.
I wouldn't mind seeing Tyrael turn evil in the end or reveal his real self as a twist, would make for a nice extra Act and all that.. also a lot of content for an expansion right there.
I still think it's more likely that he will remain relatively 'good' throughout the game, but the OP's idea is definitely possible. Save for the acts/bosses thing, since we have an act II boss confirmed now.. Belial, I think?
Wilson said Belial is in act two, he didn't say Belial was the act boss. But he know that if you say that, people will assume he's the act boss.
Anyway, I hope Tyrael doesn't turn out to be evil.
And about an expansion, I think that in the last act we should fight the trhee prime evils (Diablo the last one), and in the expansion we should fight the Angiris council, IMperius being the last boss.

you can't kill off everyone, you need enough lore to destroy in the mmo~!

It's the decisions you make when you have no time to make them that define who you are.

They want to finish the story (not the franchise), so humans turning into nephalem, and no leaders in both heaven and hell seems great for an mmo.
Three factions, a lot of classes.
Anyway, I don't want to think about it.
