I'm pretty sure that no one could dispute the cinematic being the same creature as that logo, but whether it is Diablo or not is still disputable.

What proof is there that the front cover image is of the dark wanderer? (I'm not saying it isn't though. It kind of insinuates it is)
All the pictures of the dark wanderer show him with a nose and flesh. In the starcraft CD preview, he had greyish looking skin and red eyes, and in Diablo 2 he looked pretty normal, with just mutated sections on his body/face and some coloration.
Regardless, if it was intended to be the Dark Wanderer, it should have been more tied to the other appearances.
the demon is diablo if u wacth the trailer u can clearly see the parts of diablo that didnt change though out 1 and 2 witch r the spikes on his back and the tail witch u can see move in the backround.
its not diablo... if u watch the video the monster clearly has three heads...
Wacth the video very clearly and youll see that the those things that r really just mouths are attaced to his shoulders not his neck and they dont have eyes or any other features other than mouths. so he realy only has 1 head
This will all be a non-issue if Tyrael is on the cover.
It means we get to fight him.
im not saying that u might get to fight tyreal but the game is called diablo so he better not be the last boss. the last boss shouldat least be a very badass demon
I say lets keep it simple... It only makes sense for them to put Diablo on the cover of Diablo 3... I mean, shit, check out the cover, it says Diablo 3 right above that demon's head.. Why put it there if it isnt Diablo himself..??

Lace me with the words of destruction and I'll explode, but supply me with the will to survive and watch the world grow.
It could be Diablo's true form. Up until now we have only seen him take over others soul and body. You can see he looked different from when he consumed the prince in D1 and then the Hero in D2.
Perhaps this is Diablo's true form when not being limited by the soul stone?
I don't see any logic behind having a completely new demon on the cover UNLESS is was Diablo 3: Lord of many mouths...
Thus giving it a reason for another demon to be there...just like LoD
I'm massivle suprised that people would even think it was something else. Since the destruction of the worldstone like people have mentioned this would have caused a slight change in him...the other two mouths which has also been mentioned could be a metaphor for the three prime evils, rather then have them all there. But I would go with the destruction of the worldstone has allowed diablo to know take on his true demonic form, rather then inhabit a humans body, he may not even walk on two legs this time around
I'll be eating my own words if it does turn out to be the Lord of many mouths on the cover though...*rolls eyes*
I also think the wanderer would have changed...like cain says...he orginally was very quite after defeating diablo that first time. But the longer diablo was inside of him I think the more he would have taken on that skeletal/death like appearance before diabo was about to consume him. So we may never have seen the wanderer like this but I am pretty sure that he would have looked like that over the time before diablo took complete control

That's Diablo in his wanderer form. Notice the crack where the soulstone is...
It's the decisions you make when you have no time to make them that define who you are.
and all these years I just thought it was some random skele... lol
Rofl.
So far it's been last boss on the cover. Diablo, Diablo II, and Diablo LoD stay true to that.

Mouth on shoulders, not three heads....
Mouth != Head.
It could have evolved into that.

It's time to welcome the other 80% of the color wheel to a Diablo game.

Wanderer was not a skeleton. Wanderer was still human.
