It has been said... that in the end of all things... we would find a new beginning. But as the shadow once again crawls across our world... and the stench of terror drifts on a bitter wind... the people pray for strength and guidance. They should pray for the mercy of a swift death... for I've seen what the darkness hides!
... I don't think it's safe here.
Hoping for Pink Chain Lightning in D3!

She is wearing a necklace, cant quite make out what it is, so heres my off the wall theory..
Lets say youre evil, and you know people are out to end you, would you try to "contain" yourself in a host or shell as most people have said, or would you try and leave behind traces of your existence (preserving the their souls) in hopes of the radiance of the "item" drawing someone stupid enough close to it so it can inhabit them. Perhaps the necklace she wears was a keepsake given down to her from someone in the previous games, and has some connection with a previous soulstone, or an "item" a Prime Evil cursed just incase things didnt work out.
Well I believe Diablo's original soulstone was shattered into pieces so it could be a remaining piece of that I suppose. Who knows though.
By now I'm sure most of us agree her name is Leah.
She looks to be around 18 to 20. It's been 20 years since the destruction of the Worldstone. I doubt this is a coincidence
My theory is that she is the first of the new generation of Nephilim, born just after the destruction of the Worldstone.
From the picture of her with Cain in the art trailer, she also appears to be Cain's apprentice, and from the gameplay also his nursemaid. She's certainly not Cain's daughter. He's too old to have daughters now.
I'm sure she'll be a very important part in the story, and she's the first nice looking girl Blizzard has done from what I can remember.
One can gather so far that she is obviously a main character, has close ties to Cain, and is apparently some kind of seer of sorts.
I think she might possibly be related to Cain, or perhaps an apprentice. But given his obvious age, has also taken up the cause to take care of him. She obviously cares for Cain if she is so worried about him when he left for the Cathedral.
My thought is that she will be the first NPC you speak to when you start the game, and she will probably task you with venturing into the Cathedrals ruins to make sure Cain is still alive after the comet struck the ground there. I doubt she has any real magical abilities herself aside from perhaps foresight, thus tasks the adventurer into finding him.
This could be an interesting conversation since we know the story will change slightly based on what class you play.
As a barbarian I'm guessing that after the events of D2, the Barbarian tasked himself as Cain's guardian, probably in honor of Tyrael's apparent demise(Tyrael swore an oath to protect the Horadrim, so I think the barbarian probably took up the same cup in his stead), so this Leah probably also aware of you as well. You venture to the old Labyrinth in search of Cain, and stumble upon these Dark Cultists. Upon Cain's discovery, you escort him to safety, then proceeded through to investigate them further.
This probably results in the discovery of a plot to bring the demons back to Sanctuary. Thus, POOF...Epic adventure to save the world.
All I know is I'm playing the barbarian first. The idea of this old hero, finding that even after all these years, the Evil that he sought to destroy has somehow persevered, and that he must again pick up his sword, taking up the sworn oath of his people to protect Sanctuary, yet again.
Remember how Marius saw visions of unspeakable horrors that did come true? Well, same thing with Leah.
Sweeet. Hopefully she wont be a fool like marius was.

To me it seems obvious that she is the daughter of Abd al-Hazir, and is accompaning Cain as his apprentice to search for her father, whom went missing.
What? Everyone's slaughterd by Mephisto? Cool!!!! I almost forgot: It is confirmed that the 3 headed demon at the end of the teaser, is Diablo.
It was not confirmed...at all. all they showed was that diablo may or may not make an appearence, other then that, the statue proves nothing..for all we know its a cut scene from a flash back.
probably a survivor of Tristram, someones kid that saw the terrors of Diablo/the Dark Wanderer, now looking after Cain, or she could just be a random girl that now looks after Cain, and is part of the storyline because of him.

Both unlikeky. Too young to be a survivor of the Tristram attack. She looks 17, and not over 20. Ad she was the narrator of the teaser, and she's very pretty, so she can't be just a random girl
Yes, but she could be someones child from Tristram and in the video she says that she has seen the darkness.

I don't know whether it has been already suggested or not (if yes, the sorry for that), but...
It was just an idea that occured to me while reading the sin war trilogy (i haven't finished yet) - what if Leah is one of the new breed of nephalem? she has visions, after all, perhaps it's the first step for her. but she is not trained yet and can't control it very well, like Uldyssian in the beginning. And she wouldn't need Lilith or anyone else to stir her powers, it's her birthright after all. And there is no Worldstone any more to diminish the powers of the nephalem...
Just a thought...
It's a very good thought. That and it's on topic. I agree.
