You all need to get LOTRO. I'm actually on LOTRO, and I can afford a Kinahip (guild) right now. I don't play too much but if I knew others were going to play...
kinaship? kinship? haha yeah itried out LOTRO a while back. its just like wow except LOTR quests and stuff. WoW just is older and is more balanced it seems.
I got some bad news, I have to quit my mage because my brother plays his 63 hunter which is on the same account. I'm starting a pally on a new account on Gnomeregan with my brothers. IGN Purged
you should play on the horde

I got a 6 rogue on my friend from hockey's server. I probably won't play him much though. Horde seems like you get better stuff and its easier to level. Also I think they know the game a little more. And I noticed they like to duel a lot more than alliance;)
i dont know about the dueling thing... that could be true on servers you play on.. idk. i have just seemed to run into more friendly people while playing horde. i also like the content and characters better. not to say i havent been enjoying playing my draenei shaman. im thinkin about transfering him to a different server though... im begining to find Anetheron to be a little lame

its not just the amount of people on the server, for the most part the people that i've run into sp far haven't been too friendly

I've joined Ferret on Destromatch, still waiting for Fuddy and Roo to make up their minds on what goddamn server we will play on. I like Blood Elves, but I still think Alliance is better, I recognize everything better and cmon they have Draenei. Draenei=gfg.
A good friend of mine, decided that WOW isnt for him, and he decided to give me his acct. i will soon go and buy the game, and start playing. his horde characters are on bloodscalp, but i will soon make an alliance character, if anyone wants me to play with them, tell me what alliance server you are on, and i will create a character.

World of Warcraft - Finnegin- Level 80 Enhancement Shaman
1.) No skill in WoW. Sorry...
2.) People on PvP servers are assholes.
Thank you for that constructive post. I'm sure it will bring great joy towards the greater understanding of MMO's.
WoW requires skill, and I define skill in this case as being able to perform complex procedures with good results. With that said, does it take skill to kill 10 Starving Dire Wolves for the quest NPC in Duskwood? No.
Does it take skill to solo down King Mukla in Stranglethorn Vale? Yes, most certainly, you have to know your class and it's abilities.
Does it take skill to win the whole Arena Tournament? If not, then I'd really like to see you in a duel against any player who is in the top 1.000 best in the world.
PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.

According to my fellow Russian WoW players, PvP of WoW focuses on equipment a lot more than anything else... That's pretty much the only thing to center on in a PvP RPG process. Unless it's a game that actually requires control skill, such as an FPS or a game like Eve or even Diablo, and WoW is auto-attack, concentrates on selected skill which are written down on paper long ago.
Yeah equipment is important. but what about when you have the same equipment as someone else? Then what does it come down to? no one simply just uses auto-attack idk why people bring that up in an arguement against WoW. If you play WoW you'll realize that you need skill- you gotta be a quick thinker and on the ball.
but what about when you have the same equipment as someone else?
Usually does not happen. E.g., in PvP, the importance of equipment overrides the importance of, err, skill.

Yea, that's what I'm asking. You have a warrior made by some guideline, he has a warrior made by a similar guideline. How do you compete?
I'm not a MMORPG person and I won't be playing WoW, but I am waiting for a MMORPG (see sig), and it's PvP oriented so I'm interested how does it all work, how do people compete in RPG games...

Auto-attack means little or no control over the process of actual damage in the battle.

Well, chaos played WoW and he doesn't realize it so I suppose it's not really that straightforward.

There's a difference there. PvP is usually a bunch of people who do not know each other and have no wish to cooperate, because the defenders will get less honor than the attackers. Thus everyone pretty much charges ahead and tactics get dumped.
Arenas are a different matter though. You have to be 70 to comete, and you have to have a pre-formed team whom you always battle with. With 5 people, that's quite challenging, since you never know what setup your opponents will have, and you can't change gear inside. So you have to play with what you have.

If you play in Europe, you have to buy an American version of WoW to be able to play on their servers. And you can probably expect some heavy latency due to you being in Europe if you do buy it, plus you'll be shut out from playing with anyone in Europe on that account.
I don't think it's worth it

"Cards and flowers on your window, your friends all plead for you to stay,
sometimes beginnings aren't so simple, sometimes goodbye's the only way."
1. WoW does take a certain ammount of skill. Just not the skill you have obviously. It takes timing and team work.
2. People in general are assholes. Or as the great Dr. Cox once said "People are bastard covered bastards with bastard filling."

I never said there was no skill involved. I just said a little.
