Highest is 70.
If you mean deafeating as in becoming 71, that's impossible.
If you mean defeating it as completing everything, expect it to take forever.Literally. First you will need a month to 70 (assuming you learn along the way). Then you will need 1-2 months of gathering gear for raids. Then another 1-2 months for beating the last dungeons. And by that time new "last" dungeons wll have arrived.
All this time is assumpions. It would have taken considerably longer pre-BC, but according to Blizzard thigns should go more smooth right now. But I think this estimation is optimistic.
If it really takes them a month to 70 then in my eyes, they have no life. Sorry if that offends anyone

I know I know, still what I said was, if it takes that long for someone they have no life - didn't say it was official - diablo is EASY to lvl, nothing compared to WoW.

Then I have no life I guess. I should make a Philosophy thread about that...
Anyway, Diablo is much, much , much easier to level in.
And one month is optimistical. When I reached 60 (not 70) with my first char, I had 320 hours (~13 days) on that one character. But then I didn't level all the time. So you see, one month is too short for most people.

Agreed, one mont is too short for most people. And by one month I wasn't sure if you were talking /played or RL time. /played 1 month is acceptable of coure, but 1 month overall is not (to me.) Even 13 days is acceptable. I'm lvl 40 and a bad lvler, got to 40 at like 14 days. And I SUCK at lvling, if I didn't goof off and did quests all the time when I was on I would be 60 maybe like 63 right now. But I think that 1 month in real life time is a little short... btw what lvl are you now?

lvling in WoW really goes as fast as it feels good for you. If you prefer to just explore and kill it usually takes longer than follow the quest lines into different regions. I'm lvl 70 atm already (over 3 days played at this level). My guild (alliance) already has a lvl 70 shaman and its not a month with the Expansion out. It even took only 2-3 days (real days and that person had some sleep too) to get frmo 60-70. I dont accept it when they say "ur 70 u have no life". Its too damn easy to do - i dont have to do 700.000.000 Baal runs to get a lvl . And personally i find it way more interesting than in Diablo. Pure grinding can happen in WoW when ur after an item, sometimes reputation etc but rarely while lvling. Even now i follow some very interesting quest chains just for the fun of it. Too much lore in Burning Crusade and i love it. (Anyway my record from 1-60 is about 8 days played - with my mage its over 93days all time played i think),

Me? None, I deleted all my characters and sent all my gold to a friend so he could buy an epic mount

Dude seriously you can't be that dull minded, if you're lvl 70 shaman already you have no life. And it can't really be completed in 2-3 days.

i said my guild already has a lvl 70 shaman, not myself and i also said:

not for me, i took it easy, enjoyed questing and leveled professions on the way (took one week that way).
i've seen it happen, so it can be. It just needs the right way to do it. Some are slow (as you are), some are faster (as many people in my guild are). Its how you enjoy the game more. I like to see new quests/regions and jump from one to the other. Flying is also fun as you'll notice from my new sig.
And as of the person who made the lvl 70 shaman:
he went out pretty often. Thing is when you had more than one lvl 60 character you know most quests and almost everything in lvling. Its too easy to do that. And at the time they came to Outland... well, there werent many on the start region so it was pretty easy to get done with the quests too.
I'm pretty sure you're one of the people that calls everyone whos in a guild like mine "elitist b*stards", "no lifers" etc. Well, it can be pretty laid back if you know the way. And not everyone has fun the same way anyway.
*to Phrozen*
also managed to raise the 5200 gold to buy the epic flying mount. Its faaaaast!

I'm thinking of making a Blood Elf (how original ) once I start again. Maybe we could play together then?

Blood Elves are cool. I have no idea why the hell people think they look like girls? O.o But the jokes are kinda gay... and the flirts. Haha that one flirt is halarious... but I won't ruin it for you

Pff, I've heard them all since long ago.
But can't you see what people have against them? The females do look like Barbie dolls, and the men are the "least muscular" or the races (except for the Forsaken, but can you ever truly consider them as anything besides corpses?)
And then we have all the Horde whining about all Legolas fan-boyz jumbing over to Horde now that BE look "good", and people can now play as a "pretty" race in the Horde.
